No offense to the parents of that boy, but a lot of parents have reservations about even having a swimming pool and young kids at the same time because that can be a recipe for disaster.But a 6 year-old boy and one great big balloon like that... Well, I think the parents parents should have maybe seen this one coming.

It is actually starting to look like the parents MAY be pimping out their 6 yo to get a reality show. Apparently, they have been on Wife Swap twice. During a tv interview, the boy was asked why he hid - he said he did it for the show. Whether the child is just confused or it was a stunt, we'll find out eventually. They say the cost for the rescue was about $2 mil.

A 6yr old will say things that don't mean the same thing to an adult that they mean to the 6yr old.Taking a statement from a 6yr old and applying it as factual evidence is murky at best, to be honest. While kids tend to speak honestly... they don't use the same language older children and adults use, after all they're still learning how to communicate.I'm seeing the media, as well as the general public, jumping on this as a conspiracy/setup... without any actual fact to support it other than an offhanded comment from the 6yr old.

I agree but who knows where it will end up. All of the possibilities are speculation including him getting scared and hiding.It is Hangar Chat - perfect place to speculate about meaningless incidents.

I'm glad he's alright, but the whole situation def seems interesting. Looking forward to seeing which way this goes.

This story already IS on my one remaining good nerve, if I still have one. If I commented on what I *really* think about this whole little affair, it would probably generate a firestorm of posts telling me how heartless I am.
