Which one do you prefer? Nick's or John's file?

Is there a way to get rid of occasional flashing screen while using this mod? I like the mod but the flashing is annoying.

I get the flash also when I open a door on an aircraft but thats the only time. Does your flash more than that?

Somethings not right then, it shouldn't do that. I wonder if there is a conflict between your driver, vid card, or OS. I have noticed in a lot of threads that unfortunately not everyone can use this mod. It almost makes me scared to change operating systems and/or drivers because I cant imagine not being able to use it anymore. I think in this thread some people on Win7 were having problems getting it to work right also.Could also maybe depend on your settings. Did you try NickN's as a starting point?

Any other configurations out there. I like Tim's (REX) but it was a little too blue for me. I think I am using J van E's one right now. It is very nice I guess I am looking for something more bloomy and less bluey.I liked Nick's at night but found it hard to read gauges.Don't get me wrong, all are great and I thank everyone for posting them.

Jeff, have you tried FengZ's bloom settings? They are pretty bloomy if you have ever looked at his screen shots. He has posted them a few times and can be found in a search.

Mine only works in windowed also; in full screen it stutters the whole system. The memory use lights on my Corsair ram fall off to very low when this happens. I have to Ctrl/Alt/Del to shut down FSX in the task manager.BUTI ain't givin' up yet! I run FPS_Limiter most always with FSX, so I tried without that and it's the same thing. I'm running 258.96 nVidia drivers on my Gigabyte GeForce 7900 GTX, Windows XP SP3, FSX Acceleration. I have 2GB memory.I just don't think this is a hardware issue. It acts to me like a software conflict, like maybe another module is interfering?? I'll keep checking and post the results if (when, WHEN!!) I find what works, y'all!

hmm, this may be something...According to the dev here, there are two files for DirextX9 that some computer installs have, some do not. Anyway, he says the mod will not work without these two files. He has download links to them. I'm going to install them then see what happens...UPDATE EDITWell I'm giving up tonight. I may try it later in the week. I checked in my C:\Windows\System32 and there was no d3dx9_40.dll, which is one of the required files. So I placed it in there, rebooted and tried again. Same thing, it hangs the whole system.

Tried again this morning with *******' settings and still cannot get it to work fullscreen. Windowed is just fine (and looks GREAT) but fullscreen hangs the entire system to almost locked up. *sigh* :(

Air India,I made some screenshots last year to show show the comparison here in DCS Black Shark. They way I have it set up in FSX (see below), it takes a bit of colour out of the image, darkens the ground, lightens the sky and the highlights in the clouds making the image, for me, closer to what I see in the real world.I've added a couple of shots below to show what it looks like in my FSX.Because all monitors are different, you probably won't see what I see though :)It also really depends on time of day, what REX Texture sets you choose, how you have FSWC configured etc etcGood Luck,Toby
