I've started using it a month ago using NickN's settings except that I had to lower the night value a little. So far its one of the best freeware addons/utilities/mods that I have ever gotten. Totally transformed the look of the sim. Also it's not costing me any FPS so that a good thing. Really makes the sim look better especially at night and during cloudy weather.

Really, I dont understand the hoopla about this weird "bloom add on"!It looks phony, wrong, absurd, and would be better used to show some sexy ladies in whatever they want to wear...This is like putting vaseline on a photo lense, soft, unnatural and totally useless with a Flight Simulator.OK, hit me and call me names. :(BTW cmpbellsjc: Who is this lady you have as avatar?

HelloIt can look " phony, wrong, absurd" if you don't set it up correctly.but once you get it set up to your liking it is very very good and makes the Sim look much better. But it does take a lot of trial and error to get it right, or just use Nick's settings :( .

I agree with maddog. If you set it up correctly like using the settings NickN has provided it is very subtle but IMHO very good looking. Not to mention if you set the night levels correctly it really makes the night time look likt night time, not so bright and washed out. It also makes the clouds look better in the day time and like I mentioned before using a subtle setting the days time looks better, especially in cloudy or overcast conditions. To each their own I guess, but I agree that when its not set right it looks way to fake.Oh, the chick is my girlfriend/wife, it's an inside joke with her.

I used some settings of Nicks or someone elses, and while I did like the enhanced contrast, I found a certain fuzziness/softness to the entire display using this utility. I used it a while, then ended up taking it out and notice the overall IQ is superior without it, despite the less realistic shading/contrast.Perhaps it had an effect on the AA performance settings in my GPU: combined, 8xS. Or adversely affected anisotropic filtering.Noel

I know its really a matter of taste, the best thing, you can always turn it off and on as many times you like it :-)to be honest I started with the settings from Nick (Thanks) and worked to my sweet spot.Very cool is it at night with good addons which let you set brightness for PFD`s and ND`s!McDan out
