February 3, 201016 yr Hello Everyone,I'm wondering what are some good Japanese airports that you have found online and would like to recommend, free-ware or pay-ware is ok. I fly a lot in Japan and have moved back to FSX, but there are very few Japanese airports for FSX, that I recall. What have you found? :( Right now I'm working on bringing my complete Overland Japanese airport collection to FSX, but not sure how that will go yet. I hope well. AES is out of the question for them :( . I posted a question in the MSFS Scenery forum hoping for advice for importing the airports. Any advice of experience is welcome. m(__)mThank You Derek RogersPC Specs: Intel i7-4790K 4.6GHz : 16GB RAM : GTX 970 4GB

I did email them many months ago about the possibly of having the overland airports in fsx and I was told at the time, that no they did not have any plans. but I guess the designer changed his mind since Incheon was made recently to work in fsx. here's one free fsx airport Fukushima Airport rjsf. http://hiro.fem.jp/framemenu.html Cesar Martinez AMD 7800X3D RTX5080 NZXT N7 B650E | G.Skill 32GB DDR5 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | Crucial MX500 (2×) | Crucial P3 Plus Monitor: Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 QD-OLED
February 3, 201016 yr Also some freeware here:http://fsx.o.oo7.jp/scott s..WOW! They look great. How is the frame rate hit?
February 3, 201016 yr Also some freeware here:http://fsx.o.oo7.jp/scott s..that's where he went. Thanks!
February 4, 201016 yr Author that's where he went. Thanks!haha, glad we found him. My old link for him was 404'ing after he moved. :( He has the best scenery for Japan's cities. It's great to see Aerosim doing Fukuoka!! I'll keep an eye out for the release date.I'm still working on importing the old ones. I bought RKSI a while back, and very surprised and glad to see a FSX patch. :(It feels like the Japanese dev teams haven't embraced FSX as much as US and European dev. teams. February 4, 201016 yr It feels like the Japanese dev teams haven't embraced FSX as much as US and European dev. teams. And that is OUR loss, because some of those Simmers Sky airports in FS9 were absolutely awesome.I am downloading all this stuff now, thanks for starting this thread and improving my FS experience.
February 5, 201016 yr And that is OUR loss, because some of those Simmers Sky airports in FS9 were absolutely awesome.I am downloading all this stuff now, thanks for starting this thread and improving my FS experience. The designer from overland did a very nice job he even did updates to all his airports for free. that was very kind of him I really hope he converts them to fsx while fsx is not my main sim it will be later as I update my system its only natural I figure if he did in update to get Incheon International Airport working in fsx he will eventually do it for his other airports. Thanks scott I forgot to include that link for http://fsx.o.oo7.jp/ I was also hunting for other site that had his work. when I found the new link that you posted I made sure now that I have a backup of his files! :( Cesar Martinez AMD 7800X3D RTX5080 NZXT N7 B650E | G.Skill 32GB DDR5 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | Crucial MX500 (2×) | Crucial P3 Plus Monitor: Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 QD-OLED
February 6, 201016 yr Also some freeware here:http://fsx.o.oo7.jp/scott s..Thanks also for the new link! I wondered where he went too. And when I clicked on the link, I see he has a new updated Las Vegas with many of the new hotels and casinos out here now. Both Wynn's AND Wynn's new Encore are in FSX now. Fantastic! If you were here, I'd buy you a burger and a very, very large beer! You just made my day with my new i7 and Win7.Rick (in Vegas, Baby!) :(EDIT: Oops! Spoke a bit too soon there. Just installed the new Vegas_X_3.02 file he has there dated last month, and the Encore isn't there. There are some other changes to the scenery, but it's still kinda out of date. The Stardust is still in the scenery, and that was blown up several months ago. I hope someday he adds the new Wynn's Encore, and the new City Center complex that just opened up out here on the Strip in December would be an awesome addition. I have a hunch Aerosoft will probably be doing a VFR daytime only Las Vegas, but to do a Vegas without night textures would really be a bummer. There's nothing better than the night scenery along the Strip in FSX. It just sorely needs to be updated to the current hotels and casinos out here. Anyway, thanks again for the link. Rick Ryan
February 6, 201016 yr Also try Scruffy Duck Scenery FSX Airports...Lots of nice ones with plenty of AIG remakes. Chris Camp
February 8, 201016 yr Author Here's an update:I have installed Overland's Japanese Airports Vol. 2,3,4,5, and 8 and they are working well. All the buildings are present and work. The textures of the sim objects are intact and working. :( I've noticed some problems with the runway textures, where the runway numbers are located in a black box. You can still see the number, but it was pointed out in another forum that this might be a loss of transparency. So far they are working well enough to keep and fly in and out of. Some of the textures look a little dated next to the FSX's, but again it doesn't pull away from the quality of the airports. I'm happy that all I had to do was copy the files to FSX's Addon Scenery folder and register them in the Scenery Library. This has given FSX a new life for me, plus it runs surprisingly well on my laptop. :( I'm only dissapointed that AES won't work, but I'll live.Next I'll try Urakawa's ground scenery for Narita, Aomori, Kansai, and Kobe (not sure why I bought Kobe :( ). March 16, 201115 yr I just found this post and I have a question about using overland scenery in fsx. Did you install it directly into fsx or a separate folder and then moved all the files and also where do the files go. Do the files go into add on scenery, scenery, global or any other one. How about the overland updates, did you install those too? My last question is does the afcad work or do you have to find one that works for fs2004 or use fsx ones. i am glad that these somehow can work, I spent so much money on fs2004 add ons that just sit there but that was the price for moving to fsx. i am just afraid to use an installer and then not be able to delete it in case it doesn't work so I thought I would ask these questions first, thank you.

I was flying many of my usual routes like RJSK to RJTT or RJAA to RJTT and it all seemed ok, even RJCC was fine, but I was disappointed to find airports like RJBB were just not there. At first I just installed the files into a dummy directory and copied them into the the FSX Add On Scenery folder and added them manually. It seemed to work quite well. Many of the airports had their building intact, but others were a little off. As if the location information was bad. I also noticed some elevation errors on the taxiways, where textures were overlapping and appearing to be sunken into the ground. I didn't have to time to follow up on them, and it all got placed on my pile of things-to-do. I do believe that I'll have to check the AFCAD files for the airports and make sure they conform to FSX standards. This is where I want to start fixing these airports for FSX.I have found many more airports of Japan for FSX, but none to really replace the amazing detail of the Overland packs. March 16, 201115 yr Author Anyone know this site?http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~lets_fly/fsx_scenery.htmlOliverYes, the LFA group has some great small airports for Japan. There are one man operation right now I believe. LFA still updates today, but unfortunately and for reasons I'm going to contact about, they have discontinued downloads on some of their airports.
