March 3, 201016 yr Commercial Member Alex with a system like your you can't even see FS9 at it's full potential so how can you compare the two? Rob Prest
March 3, 201016 yr Agree with rj. Also, for the fs9, those are GE Pro textures and thats it. I bet if there was mesh and landclass, it would look even better at 4,000 ft.
March 3, 201016 yr You nailed it Josh! Look at the low level texture detail it is not even close. But as a guy who spends most of his time above FL350 I trade that low level detail for raw performance, detailed big jet add-ons at Huge hubs with 100% AI, extended cloud density and cloud draw settings with smooth performance in any situation. (except KEWR where I can still see 20-25 FPS) I know you and I are both FS9 lovers but your post does a great job of showing where FSX shines low and slow and how as you get higher the differences becomes less noticeable...After seeing the traffic at EHAM and EGCC around the airport though I would love to see cars passing under me on the roads at all my approaches ;)Great Job!PaulPS. Alex. I know you love to show your three monitor setup but I have to tell you honestly, the way you have your views set up always irks me... It is like the fingernails on the chalkboard... The lower panel appears to be out on your wing and the right monitor is just so busy with all those panels open not to mention the main panel just cuts off in the center of the panel and you can't even see the right side of the panel which defeats the whole purpose of having a monitor to show the right side :( Go to the VC, Extend your view across all three screens and then you are talking :( To each their own and I know you LOVE your setup and I could not be happier for you but every time I see you post those picks I cringe :( B) Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
March 3, 201016 yr And that is why I am sticking to FS9 because I only do high flying. I'm not a GA person. Every movie that comes out from developers for FSX, notice how they only do it with GA's low flying. So I hope this will finally end this stupid fight. We can make a conclusion that if you are a fan of GA's, FSX is a must, if you are a fan flying 32,000 ft or more, loving those heavies, FS9 is a must and the awsome FPS. Tell you what also, those flytampa FS9 airports are pretty dam sharp looking too.

March 4, 201016 yr That makes more sense when you explain the "wrap around effect" As for Vancouver, trust me I would LOVE to, especially on the bike... But it is a long shot from NJ :( It was much more feasible when i worked for a west coast company but alas I am now tied to the East Coast, UK and Western EU...As for the repetitive instrument scans, that is what TrackIR is for and I find it to be much more like real life (from my limited experience) I actually find myself like my car looking out the front window 90% of the time with a 10% check on the gauges. So for every ten minutes I have spent about 1-2 tops scanning the gauges and instruments. I do not stare at them and have them in my face the whole time... Even in the VC I sit right up on the windscreen like the old lady in the "where the beef" commercials as I am only 5'6 and need a telephone book anyway LOL... When I fly VC I am 90% of the time looking out the windows and 10% checking the gauges. On Approach it is the same. One of the first things my instructor ever taught me was too NOT fixate on my instruments. I fly FS the same way...Like I said though I know you love your setup, I love mine and at the end of the day that is ALL that matters whether you fly FS9 or FSX VC or 2d...-PaulPS, As for real world simulators, they have a full cockpit setup with huge screens for every view... If I could do that with a full motion 360 degree full cockpit I could care less about VC or 2d :( Paul, will this do? Mind you, still under construction
March 4, 201016 yr Paul, will this do? Mind you, still under construction :( :( :( Well that about sums it up....In all seriousness, that is absolutely AMAZING! Do you have a blog set up or anywhere to view the progress. I am just amazed... What are you going to charge by the hour B) Absolutely Phenomenal!! Do you fly for DL in real life? Thanks for sharing!Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

I am working on putting a website together and should have it up and running by end of March. I will PM you the address when its done.No sir, do not fly for Delta. I work in their TechOps department (Stores). We house and maintain all the aircraft parts. From a nut all the way up to engines. It is a simulator maker's dream having access to all the aircraft and individual parts to examine and measure for recreation. We purchased a laser just to cut all our parts. I'll let you know when the site is up.Mitch
March 4, 201016 yr Commercial Member Any particular reason why you made it a single seater? just seems a shame since you have put so much effort into it, I guess space would be the obvious answer. Rob Prest

March 4, 201016 yr Hello,The original FS9 forum was renamed to FSX when the latest sim was released from Micorsoft, when members here asked to have their FS9 back a new forum was created. So most of the 420,000 posts within FSX are from FS9. FlyTampa is not producing high-end aircraft addons - one of our aircraft costs twice as much or more as their sceneries do. It's not the same market. What do you guys think we're doing here exactly? Do you think this is some sort of conspiracy where we make money every time MS sells a copy of FSX or something? MSFS is dead, there's no reason for us to support one sim over the other aside from what we have seen in our sales trends. Why in the hell would well do something that resulted in us supposedly losing half our customer base? It's just not true folks, we're not dumb.I don't know where that magazine got its information btw (probably very old source material) - we are not doing an FS9 NG, the real information is on our forum.Btw, take a look at the total post count for the FS9 vs. FSX forums here. 69,000 to 420,000. Does that look like a majority are using FS9 to anyone?
