In that point, PMDG is something close to MS....SP2 related posts are all around the clock on 1st page and I have not seen ANY comment from PMDG since approx. two years, which means SP2 will be ready, when we will see FSX SP3 (means - never).Anyway, JS41 is a good plane to fly, even without icing effects

Not sure what I did differently but no texture flashing on latest flight........

Nah, that wont work. They will still treat the J41 as the step child of the PMDG family. No one at PMDG seems to care about this product any more. They'll continue to milk the NGX for a long time and focus their attention on that product, because that's were their money is coming from right now.

There won't be any SP2. Forget about it.The flickering is also present on other FSX complex add-ons. It is an FSX engine limitation - not something PMDG can do about.

Funny you say that: never seen it on any other addon.

That's right, I have tons of addon's and I don't have this problem except with the J41. I've had to do without the icying affect to get rid of it.

Try the CS707 - it has the same effects from time to time. It has been reported here few times. My way of dealing this artifacts is restarting the sim or disabling icing effects completely. Luckily, if it will occur, You will see it even, before You put the batteries to 'on'

Bartłomiej Ender

That's odd, because I have the CS707 and i have not such problem

Love this aircraft except 2 major problems. The flashing textures which I can stop somewhat with using EZdok turning the view to the side. The other problem is the fatal error Smart Assembly problem. Two years no fix thats a long time should read the forums before I bought it.

I think there's confusion here. There are two issues.1. Graphical anomalies due to the icing effects.2. Flickering, particularly around bezels. The graphical anomalies can be fixed by switching off icing for most. While the flickering can be improved with very high anti-aliasing. If your system can handle it.As for other add-ons suffering from the flickering bezel lines, yes it does happen, but nowhere near as bad as the JS41 for me. In fact the only other add-on I see it on is the Carenado Jetprop, and it's a very minor issue at the bottom of the G500.The JS41 is the worst I've ever seen for the flickering. In fact I believe PMDG did say they had improved it for a further service pack... but then decided to not bother with the service pack.

Well - I bought this product today without reading this section of the forums because I allways been trusted PMDG products. Sadly that they aren't fix these problem and reason of that I can't use this product setup as I want or where I should be possibilities. About why they to make option that not work as it should be or fix it because it is a know problem? The developer only knows but they don't tell us - not very good customer service IMO...

I'm not a rich man and I'll always spent my many only to trusted product and if i make a mistake next I skip them. They developing a new nice vintage plane now and I'm very interesting plane like DC-6 but I don't know if it's will be continue same way as this JS41 if and then as a problem occured.

But yes - PMDG are done many very good plane for us so thank You them - hmmmm...

Guys, let me break this down simply:

They pushed the boundaries of FSX, and some of you are getting bitten. This is based on your hardware, and the coding, but not entirely the coding (as some of you are suggesting). So, yes, they could probably improve the code slightly, but a lot of the reason is your own hardware not being able to handle it.

So, as mentioned about a thousand times on these boards, turn the icing effects off. Your system can't handle them. It sucks, but that's life. My old system couldn't handle UTX at higher detail, but I wasn't going to go on and on about it. My system simply couldn't hack it. This is not too different.

My system can't handle this option? Then - about what kind system a user have to be that handle this effect correctly? It's VGA - I use nVidia 1 GB card, I have 8 GB RAM and I have i7 2600 3.4 MHz prosessor and it handle very well an other addons I have...
