May 18, 201016 yr *******,With the last (current) version of shader I lost the fps gain under heavy fog. I use the "Flying blind across the chanel" mission for testing. With previous (all sm3) version my fps are locked to 28 and never drop, with current version fps is 9-12. (ATI 5780 cat9-12). I reverted to previous version, prefer to have a few visual bugs against such a big drop. I suggest to make the all sm3 version available again. Many thanks for your work.
May 18, 201016 yr [When water grid show up try the following :Lower settings for WaveBumpUVScale for Shader20 MID and Shader 20 HIGH.Eg : 5.5-6.5 / 3.5-4.5The grid is default texture grid which was always there , but because the SM3 mod makes everything sharper you now see it.With lower WaveBumpUVScale values there will be more seperate reflections and therefor it will be less visible ( or not at all ). 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

May 19, 201016 yr Perfect :( I've don't seen it. Than you very muchOne more thing ; some water themes ( read waves ) cause reflection grid to appear and others don't.Even some themes which seem alike in waves. None of these thems where developed for Shader 3, so it is experimenting.Lower settings for WaveBumpUVScale for Shader20 MID and Shader 20 HIGH can make reflection grid less visible. But for myself I preferred choosing a water theme that did not cause reflection grid to show up in the first place. If you want to try it yourself : in Program Files\Real Environment Xtreme\Images\Water or in Program Files 9x86)\Real Environment Xtreme\Images\Water you will find all 26 versions of waves.Just open the a folder, then open a Base folder and copy the files into the main Textue folder from FSX.To make that easy make 2 shortcuts on your desktop. Now you can load the textures very fast, fire up FSX and see if it is what you like. This way is much quicker than letting REX load the textures ( several minutes ). 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

Just to clarify, are you saying we should copy across all the OceanHeight20FieldLayer files from the corresponding Base folder? This, of course, does beg the question which folder number you currently prefer and we can all try it for starters :( Yes, I agree, REX 2.0.2009.0914 can be frustratingly slow at installing stuff and it appears to hang on completion on my system. Fortunately, the texture installation appears to complete successfully, so I'm assuming that it must have something to do with the program's exit routine clashing with something on my setup. Their new release REXPlane is way faster - seconds rather than minutes (I'm guessing REX2 has more work to do in processing each texture file). Certainly, REXPlane only (only?!) covers clouds and sky, but I can't imagine that should their future plans include the addition of taxiways, runways and airport environment that it would make that much of a difference in speed of execution. The GUI is very nice and the texture installation completes gracefully and without incident.Regards,Mike

May 19, 201016 yr one thing I've found very interesting is the extreme differences in taste people have in respect to water textures. So far everything I've seen looks completely unrealistic

It is a small price to pay for such a great product. The water install tip is a good idea too!jja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist
May 20, 201016 yr Great news!!I was able to clear up the dreaded "grids" by simply bumping up the level of anti-aliasing from 8xS to 16xS in nHancer. Now Bojote's mod is indeed "Fantastic", deltaflyer!! :( Uploaded with ImageShack.us Alexander Alonso
