We've had some fun with this but believe me when I say that we've endured about a year and a half of some of the most despicable lies and malicious behaviour you can imagine at the hands of this individual, his aliases, and his cohorts. This type is far more prevelent in the FS Community than many can imagine. Many fellow developers know about this type. They simply troll FS Forums with their lies and deceptive practices and poison the community. As Geof and others have said, there is an entirely different perspective on certain in this community once you put on a Freeware/Commercial Developer or a Moderator/Administrator hat. We've often said that certain individuals have an agenda against us either personally or professionally.I cant't imagine a clearer picture of an agenda, accompanied by deception, than that of the OP in this very thread. Here's hoping the FS Community is bettered by their conspicuous absence. :(

If I may be so bold, why do you feel that Eaglesoft are targeted so often? I have seen quite a few occasions (take the release of the Citation V2 for example) where there has been much heated discussion between ESG and AVSIM users, whereas other developers have a much smoother time. Were most of these catfights caused by the same users? And if so, what did you do to p*ss them off? :( I did a search on longyear's and astrakan's posts, and a lot of them were quite helpful to the community at the time. Why he needed several alias is beyond me, but it is a little sad that someone who had quite a bit to offer to the flightsim community has shot himself in the foot by having a bee in his bonnet with a certain individual. Whilst it's easy to laugh about what's happened and cheer that he's gone (for now, at least), perhaps we should be a little more gracious after the fact.Cheers, SLuggy

I can say, that this not about me or Eaglesoft Development Group but rather about untruthful and less than honest behaviour of certain types of users. Most all developers, and now forum moderators, who've endured the scurilous agenda of some in this community can reveal their own experiences if they like.Face real facts Sluggy. The internet can be and often is a dangerous place with dangerous people.it is obvious to even a casual observer that what we all commonly call "trolls" who hide behind multiple IDs, can and often do turn out as mildly or seriously disturbed individuals.I'll answer your question with a question. Why do you ignore the obvious? Please reread the OP in this very thread carefully. After reading it carefully do you see an agenda? If so, is it not directed at Avsim, the Avsim Moderators, me personally, and my Company?Further to the point. Do you see an obvious attempt to deceive users like yourself into believing a series of lies?False allegations, false implications, false innuendo, false postings, false identifications, defrauding Avsim and its Staff, defrauding development groups both free and commercial, and defrauding users like yourself is no longer a game that will be tolerated at Avsim according to Jeremy and Geof. The difficulty here is that this individual has misled folks into thinking that this is about me and my company when in fact it is about his own malicious intent and deception.I've tried to introduce some levity into the matter but frankly I have very low regard for those who deceive and I'm in no mood to be gracious to a blatant deceiver at the moment.I'll remind you that Jeremy banned this person as the despicable liar that he is. :(

SLuggy,What you saw was every post by that member, who was in fact four members, that have not had to be removed. The reality is that he attacked Eaglesoft vigorously on numerous occasions, even going so far as to make false accusations in a reader's review. There were many posts which are no longer visible to the general community that had to go, all because of his vile personal attacks, which I regret not noticing sooner. However, it should also be known that his departure was the result of actively using multiple accounts, and then lying about it. Had he not adhered to my earlier caution to stop bashing members, that would have also led to his immediate departure. If anyone has any issues with an Eaglesoft product, or any product for that matter, they are more than welcome to discuss it. Members are even allowed to discuss issues with the company they bought it from, but we will not tolerate personal attacks, which were abundent from this individual, and mostly directed at Ron and Ed.

Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher

My tribute to Jeremy, Ron, Geof, et. al. for enduring this madness. Seriously, thanks guys, I had to be away from FS for a few years, came back to catch up, and ran into this mess as I was especially interested in the Citation (and will buy it Ron as soon as I decide on the new laptop). I appreciate your efforts to keep this a forum where learning is possible for those of us who do not have much time to sort through what is intended to be honest and helpful, and what is intended to be something else entirely. Apologies in advance if it doesn't bring a smile! Roy Ron: Hey Jeremy, we need to know a bit more about Avsim, we think some users have multiple accounts just to target us, whose on first at Avsim? Jeremy: Hey. Ron: Ok, hey again yourself, now tell me whose on first please? Jeremy: Hey, Hey Sus Ron: Stop with the "hey" already and please do not call me Zeus. I am not Greek, but one out of two ain't bad. Now, who the heck is on first? Jeremy: I told you, Hey Sus is on first. Hardly anyone reads your posts anymore. You are now only the god of eagles, Hey Sus has stolen all your thunder. Ron: Oh my gosh, you are crazy, Hey Zeus is an invocation, not a person. Only Ed and Bill are required to pray to me. I'm so confused. Can you at least tell me whose on second? Jeremy: Word Not Allowed Ron: What, another Greek already? Is he a god too? Jeremy: No, that would be Hey Sus on first, but he is not Greek. We are EEOC compliant. Ron: You're truly insane. Everyone knows Zeus is Greek, and why do you keep saying "Hey Zeus" as though he were here. *******: Ron! Ron: Hey. Who are you? *******: Hey Sus. Ron: Will you guys please stop saying Hey to me, and why are you now also calling me Zeus? I am not Greek! *******: I'm not. I just think you should know my name

This thread, for some reason, reminds me of the forums of an addon. I can't remember which one - it was a few years back. There was someone who was given a moderator title or similar as he claimed he was a real pilot and was giving information to the addon company. Everyone believed he was who he said he was until it transpired that he wasn't a pilot at all and he was dismissed!Anyone remember which forums/addon that was?

Why do you ignore the obvious?'First off Ron, no hard feelings on my part. In fact you may even recall getting a PM of support from me during the Citation V2 debacle, but perhaps not.A little off topic, but here goes. In my line of work (and no, I'm not going to tell you what I do nor whom I do it for besides the fact that it has entailed me having a government security clearance for over 20 years) I've seen quite a few 'mildly or seriously disturbed individuals', and it usually requires something to trigger their abberant behaviour. This guy appears to have taken issue with ESG for some reason, and I merely asked what may have started it off.By asking for a little background, I was attempting to learn some of the background of this character. There's no need to be condenscending to me here, Ron. I know you probably didn't intend it (and I'm certainly old enough and ugly enough not to take offence), but some of your own posts can be a little grating to those not as 'mature' as us learned individuals, particularly when you end a post with your infamous :( signoff.Cheers, SLuggy

Sluggy, thanks for any support you've offered. Glad to hear that you are both mature and experienced.I banned this individual and a few of his cohorts [multiple IDs] with cause nearly a year and a half ago. Their behaviour was contrary to our forum rules.I repeat, this is not about me or my company. It is about the behavior of certain types of people. You've not answered my questions. Do you see malicious purpose in the very thread starters post. Do you see an obvious attempt to deceive users into believing lies regarding Avsim, Avsim Staff, me, and my company?Infamous signoff??. Hard for me to fathom why folks are offended by use of forum smilies but oh well. :(

Hi RonI understand this guy is, to quote a phrase, 's&*t-stirring', and I'm glad that he's banned from AVSIM because of his obvious transgressions, and what's more I know you and the gents at ESG have been unfairly targeted by this individual under a number of alias. I'm on your side, honest! :( I was just wondering why he picked you in particular and ESG in general to target. That's all.And when someone rolls his eyes at me in person, I can get offended. Same as some people can get offended if it's done to them in a forum. In the words of a certain aging rockstar, 'You shouldn't taaaaaaake it so, personal....'In the washup Ron, all's well that ends well. And after reading my post to you above, I didn't mean to come across as some kind of James Bond character. The truth's far more prosiac than it reads. :( Now, where's my secret decoder ring?Cheers to Ron and the AVSIM mods, SLuggy

In my experience since being a mod here-every payware manufacturer has enemies or trolls-and with every new release they magically appear. Why as simmers we can't wait for a new release and why we as mod's we dread them-our workload goes up 10 fold during a new release-of anything! ....and it really seems silly since no one is under any pressure to buy anything-but the opposite-not having anything to buy-would be hugely tragic for flight simulation. Why a few try to take the whole process down is beyond my comprehension.

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Why a few try to take the whole process down is beyond my comprehension.
It's beyond ours as well Geof.

Sluggy, we take no offense at your posts. We agree that "alls well that ends well". :( Allow me to add one other point if I may...simmers in general are often prone to dismissing lies and deception as simply "troll like" or "pot stirring".I think it was Geof who pointed out that music theft is not considered harmfull by some until they've experienced the results themselves.I can't think of a more appropriate way of dealing with liars than Jeremy calling a spade a spade or a despicable liar a despicable liar.My point is that lies and deception cause real harm to real individuals or real communities and if this were a court, the individual in question could be charged with purgery, deceptive practices, and much more.

To be perfectly honest, I'm hugely in favor of AVSIM removing the "rolling eyes" smilie entirely, as I cannot think of a single instance where it could be used without insulting the reader to whom it is directed. :(
