Flight Scenery FlightZone?

Featured Replies

I for one loved the hybrid semi-photoreal scenery the flight scenery guys had in their FlightZone products - whatever happened to them? No FSX work even under another name?

Last I heard, Stephane Lepage ("Vauchez") is working for ORBX now.http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?to...57432#msg157432Cheers,Noel.
Um... no, I don't think so. John talked to him a while back, but as far as I know he never joined the team.

That is correct, Vauchez does not work for Orbx

Stephane Lepagne ("Vauchez") Promised all those who bought 'Flightzone 02 Portland' for FS9, would have the FSX version free of charge! He never answered any queries in the flightzone forum and eventually the website dissapeared too.Last heard he was working for 'Dreamfleet' on their 'AirlinerXP' program, and we all know what happened there. :(A great pity really. This guy was amazing and his scenery is still the best I have ever seen in FS9. It's even superior to anything seen in FSX.The strange thing though is that there were two developers involved in Flightzone. The other person's name was 'Patrice'.I understood that Stephane had some sort of family problem. I recieved a replied email from him years ago after he had just returned from the 'Rockies'. Maybe he went back eh? :(

:( you obviously dont own Orbx's YBBN Intl!! hands down the best airport ever done for any MSFS version and FSX yet IMHO..

At the time, FZ01 and FZ02 were ground-breaking scenery packages. I had them as soon as they came out. Still love "dropping by" when I fire up FS9, which is more seldomly these days unfortunately...To say that the two packages surpass FSX packages would imply one hasn't seen anything from FTX... As much as FZ01/02 raised the bar in FS9, FTX has broken the bar off and thrown it into the upper atmosphere for FSX... Now, time for me to strap myself into the Moth and head on down to Tamworth... :( :(Andrew

So, are you saying that ORBX has done Portland?

Not yet Dave. It's mentioned in the odd post here and there, that it's planned for release next year...and FWITW - I still use FlightScenery's Portland PDX when flying the Maddog in from SEA. The default is so bad. Even the FTX updated temporary PDX doesn't compare. However - I'm equally sure that John V & Co., are going to make a fabulous job when they get around to it.

I'm pretty sure KPDX is part of Flightzone 02 Portland. At least I thought it was.

As much as I liked it in FS9, I'd say that FlyTampa's Hong Kong or St. Maarten full package would give it a run for the money or the ORBX stuff.

Yes it is an integral part of FZ02. Also Pearson, Hillsboro and Troutdale - all of which are very well done as "upgraded airports" that are included in OrbX's PNW.
