Flightsimlabs is working on an Airbus A320

Featured Replies

It's a big undertaking, and certainly early days given that the picture preview of the aircraft appears to be a Photoshop job with their logo layered onto a photo of the real aircraft, but good luck to them. As we know, the A320 seems fraught with danger for developers almost to the point of being a jinx, but if they pull it off realistically, they've got a sale from me. The last thing we need is another stalled attempt, we've had enough of those.Fingers crossed eh?Al

There sure is a nice financial incentive to see a proper Airbus A320 series project to fruition, it will sell like hotcakes! I was so hungry for a nice a320 experience I even installed FS9 just to test out the Airsimmer basic a320. But its been in the hanger since January because of the unpredictable CTDs. I am eager to see Airsimmer finish the project, but it's nice to see flightsimlabs throw their hat in the ring, maybe it will set a fire under Aerosoft and Airsimmer's behinds to work hard on their respective projects.

If i was Aerosoft i would ditch the advanced module ipso facto, leaving FS Labs with the plunge of catering to the advanced systems crowd.Best of luck for them, i really hope they deliver.

Great news! Good to have some competition in the FSX A320 area.

It'd be nice to see someone finish an A320. I just popped over to the aerosoft forums to see how their airbus was going and only 39 minutes ago Matthias posted this:"Release August 1st in download. Sorry. Mea culpa."Will we ever see an Airbus for FSX (not counting the Wilco one)?

Maybe Airbuses are going to live up to their name - you wait ages for one and then three come along at once!Ian

Actually the Wilco one isn't that bad, except for the external model, which is bad. That though in FSX can be remedied very easy by swapping it out for the Project Airbus model. System wise it does most at what you would expect, (LNAV, VNAV) and it models the FBW protections well except for the overspeed protection. Why they left that out when they covered all the other realms of protection I don't know, or maybe it's just a bug. Check out some of my A320 videos. Here's one with the Project Airbus external views. You can see the in cockpit ones by following the video response link if you want.

Thanks

That looks so inviting! I'd dump the whole Wilco series for this! There's some competition from Aerosoft, though.

must say i was really surprised that FSL would make one since Lefteris from FSL and Mathijs from Aerosoft are "friends". i can imagine it can only lead to issues and splitting the market when companies do things like this especially in such a small market relatively close knit community as the flight sim crowd.

Must say, after Airsimmer and Airliner XP I take little hope in seeing this come out anytime soon or at all. Seems many companies are great at hyping vaporware and not much else when it comes to a true PMDG/LVL-D type Airbus for FS.

I have a feeling FSL will make a fantastic A320. Their ConcordeX is a masterpiece.

Looking forward to this one, but it's safe to say that statistically it's likely it will be either cancelled, disappointing, or late. Here's wishing all the best to the developers in this hard endeavor.
