Yes, but this thread was moved from the main FSX forum.

Yep, I'm using these beta drivers with my 9800 GTX and they are by far the best drivers onthe W7 platofrm to date. Believe me, I've tried them all. The key improvement is smoothness for me, though some have reported big framerate increases in other games.IAN
I'm noticing better visuals - sharper images close up and more believable and softer blurring in the distance.. this one may just stay on my system.Best driver to date (before this one) 182.50!WinXP32 9600GT 512MB 8XS AA and 16X AF per Nick's profile for FSX

I went back to the 197's. This driver was consistently showing me lower frames. Even using Nick's work-around didn't help. Using an overclocked 285 NVidia card instead of the 400 series, I believe, makes for the difference. I will wait for Nick's new Enhancer update for this 200 series driver before changing....OR wait for the WHOL version.May be just my experience, but after going back to the 197.45's, my frames jumped up again at least 20fps!Stan

Not sure performance is any better, but the visuals have improved quite dramatically in my case! What has nvidia changed here? Is it the filtering??

Mitch,8sQ looks even better.Jose
----------------------------------------Ok Jose, I just did the 18--------19 mod for 8sQ. Now to run with it....Edit: Jose, I just came back from using 8sQ, and besides killing off 10 FPS on most views, I really didn't see a great difference between the two visually. Slightly less shimmer, here and there, but what a performance hog! I went back to Nick's standard, and got all my performance right back along with the smoothness of this driver set. It still looks the best I have ever seen it! I have also gone back to a LOD of 4.5 vs my usual 6.5. you don't need to go beyond standard any longer.Mitch

Mitch,I'm sorry that it did not improve image quality for you. Using my gtx 480 & BP=0 tweak, I notice less shimmer, quality that rivals 32x aa and no performance drop.I'm glad you gave it a shot.Have fun!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi Jose,Jose, yes...it actually did improve the logos etc on the planes, but only by a small margin over Nick's Standard (18 setting) as per my opinion. I'm running a GTX 285, but you are running a powerhouse, LOL! But having typed that, and with using the GTX285, this is the best driver I have EVER seen! Everything looks good, haze is amazing, and you'd swear you could see the ripples of water on the backyard swimming pools, lol. nVidia did a fabulous tweak with this series. I'm hoping that the 'certified' set comes out quite soon. About fun?....having a blast! Mitch'er

Even though Nvidia has done a great job with this latest beta driver, they need to get their act together when it comes to their control panel and FSX. There's no reason we have to have to wait until Nhancer is updated in order for us to enjoy HQ settings in FSX. By now, they should have found a way to incorporate Nhancer or fix their configuration panel.Imagine if we did not have NickN? We would not be able to upgrade to this latest driver. I wouldn't! LOLThanks NickN!

This driver is a double step forward when Nicks "19" edit to his tweak is applied. However, I think I just found a glitch. In multiplayer the higher settings don't seem to apply at all but is really rough and jaggy when in full screen. Has anyone else tried it?Stephen

I am presently in a flight at 6,000 ft over the Caribbean, from Barbados to Martinique. I'm about 20 minutes away from landing under A.T.C.I would like to nominate this driver suite as a TURNING POINT and MILESTONE in driver architecture. What is this driver, even as beta?......well it's the BP=0 tweak in the form of a driver suite!!!!I have totally removed BP=x in my config as you don't need it. I have absolute smoothness, no jitters, stutters...and this is with a massive compound cloud scenario (just fire up ASX and fly between my islands at 13:37 EST to see what I am talking about!) to boot. You know...you get each and every driver upgrade, and perhaps there is a tweak here...a tweak there, but nothing to write home about. Not so, this driver. The ocean below me is REAL! I mean, real.....the sparkle upon the water, the ocean swells in animation, the haze...HOLY S! It used to be like a white paste smeared upon the scene. I think people know what I am trying to describe. But now....with the clarity and scenery rendition out to the horizon (I am running back at stock 4.5 on my LOD), the haze looks like whatever you'd see in the real world of aviation. WOW!I pity anybody that does not have an nVidia product that can be run by this beta driver. I don't know what AMD is putting out, but if you own an nVidia card and do not run this driver...you are loosing out in the tenth degree.1. Smoothness of animation2. Clear, precise and NO BLURRY scenery of any form of land class3. Rock solid performance to date.Important Post Edit: All of the above comments is with the understanding that you have used Nick Needham's wonderful tweak to get all the benefits from this driver as you would if you were running nHancer. You must do this to see the benefits of this suite.Fantastic, nVidia....fantastic. Address the issues with your GUI, and you will run away with the lead with this and up and coming driver suites. What the heck did you guys and gals DO?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Lovin' it....and back to land in Martinique.
