Qualitty wigs 757

Do people feel that Quality Wings 757 is worth getting?ThanksOzptSorry for spelling. that should be Quality Wings

Absolutly! Great plane and great support, it's a 'win/win'. There is an Avsim review on it around here somewhere.

Depends what you want? If you want a fantastic mid-level sim, Yes. If you are expecting Level-D Complexity, no.It is more complex that the CLS stuff and less complex than the PMDG stuff.

Here's where I get all of my quality wigs: http://www.worldofwigs.com/ :( Seriously though, Quality Wings is above-average and worth checking out. There are things about it that are better than CaptainSim (sounds come to mind), but other things are that are CLS-like (read: "lite"). Since their tag-line is "Complexity Simplified," they are quite transparent about it. SP1 actually beefed it up in terms of "lite"-ness.

I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.

I very much like it.And the support is excellent.IMHO they've done the most beautiful jetliner aside from the DC8 justice. And thus I'm really happy with the 757.

I don't think this plane is as lite as a CLS planes. It's above CLS by some degree, just don't expect a CS-like system simulation (in terms of heavyniess, that is). What I really like about the QW757 is the ability to save the panel, so that I can do long flights yet stop in the middle and continue later. That's besides the great soundpack and awesome model and very good FDE. They got that Avsim Gold Star with reason!

I've been mulling over this one but I'm still not clear on what between CLS and PMDG means. Do you need the APU running to start the engines? Does the FMC model the major functions used correctly? Thanks.Dave

As I recall, you can download the manual from their site before you buy it, should answer your questions.

@ Dave:CLS means: CTRL-E starts the engines, the FMC doesn't do a lot and flying thew plane no longer needs two or three guys; half a guy will suffice.PMDG means: You are on your own where two or three guys might be very welcome. Starting the engines may be a challenge in and on itself, systems need to be looked at and the FMC is loaded with functions, just like the real thing.QW757 is somewhere between the two. Many systems actually are modeled to some degree. Basically, to fly the QW757, you need one guy. Not half, not two, one. It does VNAV, LNAV and the FMC gives you the toold to do just that. To start the engines you need to have set some buttons right, but don't expect full simulations. It really is quite medium, leaning to the lite side.

In addition to what everyone else here said, don't expect a full system simulation or an all out simple LITE product. You have the option of selecting LITE mode in the panel to really dumb things down for you, but out of the box you will find that every major system you need to get you from point a to b without failures is modeled. When we released our Service Pack in April, we truly felt we took the product to a whole new level systems wise.

PMDG /CLS ??When speaking of the 757 / 767 I will definitively recommand CaptainSim, but will not forget Level-D. 767 and 757 are essentially the sames to what concerns systems and cockpit. Level-D is lighter on frames than CS.PMDG has not any of the two 757/767, but they are working on a B777.CLS is just nice to look at, I cant do anything usefull with their products, and bugs are presents too...

CLS products operate in a similar manner to the default 737. Visually, they are beautiful but they have virtually no learning curve for someone that is comfortable with the default 737.PMDG products model every system possible within the constraints of FSX. You can not use the default GPS to navigate and if you try to fly it like the default 737, you will end up with warning lights all over the place if you are even able to get the engines started.Just as other have said, the QW is in the middle. You can use LNAV/VNAV or you can use the default GPS. Visually, it is fantastic - better than the CLS stuff. It also includes all variants and just about every paint you could want.I also think the QW product is a good stepping stone to more complex aircraft like what is offered by PMDG. If you get the default aircraft, want something more involved but don't want to jump in to a 300 page manual, the QW is for you. If you are expecting complete systems replication, the QW is not for you. IMHO, I think the QW757 is fantastic and it is priced well.

I like the QW model, I wish that there was a version that offered both VC and WV in the one model. I see there is a third party .gau file that apparently offers this but it's for FS9 only, as far as I can tell.Bruce.

HelloBought this yesterday, Still waiting for forum registrationNice model but heavier on the frames than LVL-D 767 surprisingly.Cannot interface to my Goflight MCP due to not using any keymapping and it does not fully respond to Fsuipc macro programming.Hangered till SP2 FSX native model arrives hopefully with some keymapping ability added

You get wingviews based on the external model. Check my posts on the QW board in the pilots lounge. I posted camera settings for their 757 back when it was released. You could also get EZDok
