KSFO for FSX...

Featured Replies

No, this isn't another thread asking if one is available. I just came across these guys this morning:http://www.flightbeam.net/It looks like KSFO is their first project, but from the preview shots it looks exceptional. Visually is well up there with FlyTampa and FSDreamTeam. Obviously can't comment on performance, but they're claiming it is good so far. I know some knock the mega-hubs and play hush-hush to the requests for west coast airports, but I couldn't be happier to see this coming. I personally just want a high quality airport on each end of my flight and couldn't care less if it's a mega-hub or small regional airport (or one of each). This should pair nicely with FSDreamTeam's KLAS and KLAX whenever someone finally decides to do that one. Here's to hoping they don't hit the problems of some other start up developers and fail to get their first product out the door.

I saw this too, but it looks like the project is in it's early stages, so I think it's going to be awhile. While it does look good so far, from the limited shots available, I think it's a little early to compare to proven scenery developers like FlyTampa and FSDT! Lets not make the same mistake like we all made with Airsimmers and AirlinersXP and over-hype this, before it even really gets started!! Time will tell how good it gets!

Thanks

I do get you're point, but not sure how early in development I think they are. They have in-game shots showing complete buildings and ground textures. They have a good half-dozen in-game previews that quite honestly do look very close to the quality of any preview I've seen from the "proven" developers. Honestly I think Q4 2010 release (as they claim) is very reasonable seeing where they are now and I see no reason not to expect a top visual quality. It's a little different comparing scenery products to aircraft products too (like Airsimmer and Airliners XP). A scenery product is entirely visual (minus a couple of small things like the AFCAD) and what you see is what you get. With aircraft products there's so much that goes on systems wise behind the scenes that screenshots only tell you a small bit about the product.

Hey folks. Firstly two things...We will definitely not go under like other early studios, trust me. This project will be finished and delivered before the end of the year, most likely October. Also, the screenshots posted are 100% unedited except for resizing in Photoshop, it WILL look that nice when completed. We're implementing baked in shadows into the textures giving it a nicely rendered look. For development, our machines use the enbseries bloom modification, however we're testing the scenery without it to ensure that it looks just as good. In other words, you will not be disappointed, so check our news section often!Mir

FSdreamteam has KLAX out already. KSAN is under development by someone as well. Can't remember who.

Really? Cloud9 had a FS9 version, now handled by FSDT. Do you have a link to the FSX version by FSDT?

Maybe you can check back and fill in the blank spot about who, when, how much? Just simple stuff.

I think he's thinking of KLAS (McCarran Intl Airport). I'm not aware of anyone working on KSAN either, so I'd be interested in who it is as well!

Thanks

FSDreamTeam absolutely does not make a KLAX for FSX. As mentioned, they do support the old Cloud9 KLAX for FS9 now. I am >97% sure that there is no appreciable KLAX upgrade for FSX (I've seen a couple of freeware/AFCAD changes, but all with default FSX textures).I've seen quite a bit of confusion in various forums with the poster looking for these airports in FSX with responses noting that they're available in FS9.

The scenery looks excellent so far Mir.

I agree but could live without SMO, but would love to see KSAN, KPHX and for me since I used to fly out of it a lot years ago, KONT.The KSFO project looks nice. From the shots they almost look a little like FlyTampa texture style.

Great news. The pics look real GOOD. Can't wait. :(

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

Yeah, I meant KLAS.My bad. As far as KSAN, I'm positive I saw it in development on a forum and I even visited the developers website for a few minutes. I'll try to dig it up.Found it.http://cielosim.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=138Developer says it's in production for FS2004 at the moment (at this point why the hell would anyone make an FS2004 only release?) but may be available for FSX soon. So I wouldn't hold your breath, but at least it's possible.

This is great news! I have bemoaned many times in the forums of the lack of west coast airports. It seems strange that such an incredibly scenic area of the world has been neglected in FSX. Hopefully this developer will fill the hole in the market. It would be nice to see KLAX as well.
