I think the FSX/ESP SDK allows for this already using simConnect.I'm pretty sure I've seen a presentation on this before...they were studying how a helicopter's downwash interacted with a ship's landing platform. Their fluid simulation may not have been realtime...as far as I know, they often aren't.
Interesting! Any more info on the helo?Cheers,- jahman.

My wish list pretty much mirrors the majority posted already. Most items on my wish list are towards the weather aspects of the sim.I do hope that we get significantly better representation of rain and snow effects and lose that "flying through a wormhole" effect that's presently in FSX...One pet peeve of mine is that once it stops raining, we immediately loose the "wet pavement" effects. That effect should remain for a while, even if the rain has stopped. That all or nothing adds to the immersion kill factor.Volumetric clouds are a must-have, as our cloud shadows. Also, in regards to rain, lets be able to actually see distant rain clouds showing rain fall similar to this:a355133112017.jpgFinally, more "living world" features. The addition of moving cars, boats, airport traffic, birds and even animals was a great start.

Better ground surfaces all around. For example, players could slide all over the place depending on airport conditions. (Ice, wet mud rather than dry ground, hydroplaning, and other phenomena...)

Fade-in autogen rather than pop-up.

Please, please more realistic flight dynamics, atc and realistic engine management. ( no more firewalling a piston engine for 5 hrs with no consequences). experience ground effect.
Why can't you firewall a piston engine for 5 hrs? The only consequence I see, is having to make a bathroom stop during that time. :( But seriously, if the rpms are kept below red-line (fixed or constant speed props), and the CHT & EGT's are kept in check................then there should be no problem. These engines can easily handle it.As to realistic flight dynamics, what are we comparing to? I hope it's not the off the shelf X-Plane, as it has it's positives and warts too...In the flight dynamic department, 3rd parties have gotten around the sour spots pretty well. As to basic flight, the default Cessna 172 isn't bad for flight from point A to B.L.Adamson

+1
Fade-in autogen rather than pop-up.
Excellent suggestion. Instead of the "popcorn popping" effect, it slowly blends in.

Harder to see things at night. It's never really black.Waves like Ship SimulatorAllow float planes to bump up against docks.Eliminate how the ocean looks like a bunch of tiles, especially at night.Persistent cloudsWake turbulenceRain/Snow that doesn't look like your making the jump to light speed in Star WarsVisable icingImproved flight dynamics/more realistic landingsAt least one default high-quality trainer like a C172 on par with an A2A Accu-simmed plane

Fade-in autogen rather than pop-up.
Yes yes yes yes yes most definately! The way it's meant to be done! That pop-into-view behaviour of FSX was a regression from FS2004 and disturbs immersion quite strongly (for me). Thanks for bringing this up.

I haven't seen this request yet after reading through most of the posts,,I would like to see A default setting to start in an aircraft in the "cold and dark state"But other than that, the sim looks great! Saving up some cash for A new systemwhen they release the sim Big%20Grin.gif

An "Add-On Store" (store as in storage, not as in purchase) where all downloaded Add-Ons can be stored, managed, installed, repaired, updated and backed-up, together with all necessary activation keys, so that if I reinstall MS Flight I can go to an Add-On Manager dialog box, select the Add-Ons I want installed/updated/repaired then go on vacation :-) and when I return all tasks have been finished (with a viewable report/log) and I can just FLY.Cheers,- jahman.
