September 13, 201015 yr Can't guarantee when the update will happen, but I will tell you you're going to see a lot more than small slivers of the panel this time... Thank you Ryan, I'll be looking forward to the update. It's nothing like checking out the forum, and suddenly one day there is a BIG update. It's like Christmas. :( Stian Beinset ENML
September 13, 201015 yr Just wanted to let you guys know - we were planning to do an update this weekend but RSR's been tied up with preparations for the Reno Air Races next weekend. His plane had a failure last night in testing and they've been working all day to fix it and get everything ready for qualifying this week. Can't guarantee when the update will happen, but I will tell you you're going to see a lot more than small slivers of the panel this time... Hey Ryan, what plane does he have? I'll be at the Reno air races also, maybe i will chear him on.-Travis "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." September 13, 201015 yr Ryan, thank you for the update about the update about the release date. I look forward to the update about the race and hopefully the update about the release date in the next updateMike KendallNowhere does he mention that this update will disclose any information about the release date... <---------------> Mike Murawski
September 13, 201015 yr Infact, they have stated many times that they will not predict a release date, so I'm pretty sure that one thing you are guaranteed to not see in the update is the release date.
September 13, 201015 yr I just dont get why it is so hard for people to understand that... :( <---------------> Mike Murawski
September 13, 201015 yr Commercial Member Robert flies in the air races? Did not know that. Good luck, Robert. Hoping for a better result than your political race! (Ok, sorry, that was a low blow...) Hey Ryan, what plane does he have? I'll be at the Reno air races also, maybe i will chear him on.-TravisRobert's plane is called "Grace 8" - it's a navy blue SNJ-6 racing in the T-6 class. The airplane won the Silver division at last year's races. I'm actually not sure if they're running Silver again or if they moved up to Gold this year. I'm not able to go up to Reno this year unfortunately, but I was there last year when they won.Btw, Robert is not the race pilot - the team has a dedicated race pilot named Ken Gottschall. Race flying is pretty dangerous, people have been killed at Reno many times - Robert doesn't want to take that risk with his wife and daughter. That's one loud beast - I believe they've been flying around in formation at EAA too. Ouch my ears. Only afterburned FA-18 were worse LOL. :(
September 13, 201015 yr An FA/18 using its after burners is loud but not the loudest thing I have ever heard. Here is a picture of the bird they are flying
September 13, 201015 yr An FA/18 using its after burners is loud but not the loudest thing I have ever heard.Even though I have never seen/heard one I have been told by older enthusiast that the F4 Phantom was a very loud airplane. Mike Keigley
September 13, 201015 yr Good luck to RSR at the Reno air races. Am sorry to hear his plane is having issues. Hope they get it resolved in time to win again this year. My box copy of 747X just came in anyway. So look forward to hearing about NGX when he has time.. Is good to hear there will be a lot more to see than the little slivers Ryan. Whoever came up with that is one cruel individual :( . Hopefully everyone has a good week at the races. September 14, 201015 yr Think that's loud, if you ever get a chance to see a VC-10 do it, and bring ear plugs, shes louder then Concorde for fun.OT, but I've had the privilege to witness a good number of low-level military flybys and I have to say the F-111 or B-1 at full afterburner pretty much take the cake. When you can say you set off every car alarm within at least a 1/2 mile radius, you know you done good!Lookin forward to the next NGX update! Tony
