November 10, 201015 yr I don't believe that is totally fair to compare a mature product to a recently relaces piece of software. The PMDG product has been on the market now for over four years, whereas the iFly is just now coming up on 90 days. Go back at look at various flight sim forums and search the PMDG, Level-D, Dreamfleet, Eaglesoft, Wilco, etc products and examine their early learning curves. All new highly advance software products go through the same learning curves for both the developers and the end users. Its just part of the products life cycle. Before blasting a product, see if the develpers are listening to the end users comments and if they are willing to make the needed corrections. What I have seen in most product lines is that the software developers listen and respond to their customers. Lets wait and give iFly the chance to release SP2. So far they have been very responsive.Tom

VERY good point tom! PMDG's 737 was released without an AIRAC and multple other significant faults. the threads about the release were so negative that i didn't purchase the product.an few SPs later folks seem to forget the 'teething problems'.-- D. It's a fault of human nature, i guess: bad memories almost always tend to turn into better memories. Actually, I once read an article about the brain of older adults (65+) and how it processes negative stimuli less thoroughly than events that are positive. The result is that positive stimuli are remember more often and more strongly than negative stimuli. October 11, 201114 yr Commercial Member So was the Q answered at all? Can a flight plan be loaded directly into the iFly 737 FMC like you can with a PMDG? Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
October 11, 201114 yr So was the Q answered at all? Can a flight plan be loaded directly into the iFly 737 FMC like you can with a PMDG? Yes it can Clarke Kruger - CYEG
October 11, 201114 yr Commercial Member And the FSX version?Any help appreciated; thanksSteve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
October 11, 201114 yr Commercial Member Yes it can"Do you know the way to San Jose?" "Yeah, I do..." sorry couldn't resist Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
October 11, 201114 yr Then how? Precisely the same way as you do it in a PMDG aircraft - generate the plan with something capable of exporting the iFly format; FSBuild is one example - then load it as a company route. DJ
October 11, 201114 yr Commercial Member So I use FSBuild or similar to change from a .PLN to iFly format, and the FMC loads that. Sadly it does not open .FLTs...Thanks DJ. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
October 11, 201114 yr Sorry Steve, Guess I cou;d've been more helpful. An updated version of FSBuild actually has the iFly 737 listed as an export. So it's exactly the same way as the PMDG was/is.Build it ,export it ,import it via the Route section of the FMC and go! Clarke Kruger - CYEG
October 11, 201114 yr Or you can export the route via vroute. However you need to be the Premium owner.
October 11, 201114 yr Commercial Member Yes it canSo it appears after all, that it can't, you have to use it's own file format company route files rather than FS9 .PLNs. They include a nice detailed description of the file format with the iFlys. However you need to be the Premium owner.I think I spent 2k on addons, no need to stop now... Thanks all, pointers like this save hours mucking around. Appreciated Sorry Steve, Guess I could've been more helpful.Don't worry, I'm in a provocative mood, your help was great. December 26, 201114 yr I bought this aircraft, and it's absolutely STUNNING! I love it to pieces. Some things though about it I don't like.-No wing view-Wiper textures are sloppy.-Pressure button textures behind the seats in the VC are very sloppy. But overall, very good, I don't want to complain too much! Great job Ifly!
December 27, 201114 yr Yes, it is an outstanding addon. Think of adding FS2Crew to it and you will fly nothing else... No wing viewIt is believed to be added in the Feature Pack which will be released in the following months. But please do not take my word for it.
