MilViz Cessna C310R...

Featured Replies

SP2 and Acceleration are "variations on a theme" you require either/or, but not both surely.M.

FSX updates are listed as a system requirement for the MilViz Cessna 310R.Cheers,Ken
I didn't notice this on the Flight1 forum posts. Also, it's impossible to find FSX in retail stores now, I was lucky to find my standard copy.Pictures:2010-9-6_4-19-29-964.jpg2010-9-6_4-20-1-368.jpg2010-9-6_4-19-58-813.jpg2010-9-6_4-22-16-349.jpg2010-9-6_4-22-42-14.jpg2010-9-6_4-23-24-8.jpg2010-9-6_4-25-15-959.jpg2010-9-6_4-25-30-959.jpg2010-9-6_4-26-17-882copy.jpg2010-9-6_4-26-23-961copy.jpgHowever, here is a link to my album showing the anomalies.Any thoughts on my other issues?1. Loading up the airplane, the props are spinning counter-clockwise, like a windmilling free turbine! They stop when the engine starts.2. When viewing from a tower view, or another non-airplane view, it looks like there is a big white rectangle, standing vertical, running through the middle of the airplane!3. When flying, especially on take off, it has a HUGE left yawing factor! I flew a C310C model for 35 hrs this summer, and it never exhibited anything like this! I know that this probably has IO-550TC's, but it shouldn't be like that, should it? It results in a nice 45˚ banking steep turn if you let it continue!4. No gauges show up in the G1000 model. Now, if you need Deluxe or Gold Version of FSX, that would be why! Also in this model, the buttons are opposite for the Pilot, Chocks, and covers.5. FPS seems strangely low, lower than the PMDG MD11, RealAir Duke, and A2A Cub (I list those, b/c I've flown them all a lot lately).6. I too am experiencing the odd Nav light behavior, showing in the beam of the landing lights.7. None of the listed clickspots in the VC work for me.Some stats:Win 7 64 bit Ult.FSX SP2 (No Deluxe, Gold, Acceleration)4GB Ram, 2.53 Dual Core, 512MB vid card (don't remember my stats).I've done the Camera.02 addition of the Clipping.I load from the default cessna, which has engine off, avionics on, and everything else off.EDIT: I will post this same thing in your forums whenever I get an activation link. It's 530am here and I'm ready for bed! Great product guys, I hope I'll be able to use it!

Acceleration is not required, as I used nothing in the model or gauge programming that is specific to the Acceleration additions to the sim. While developing the model's code and the gauge code, I tested it through on both a Win7 x64 machine with Acceleration, and a Vista x32 machine with only SP2 installed. However, at least SP2 is required, and at least an FSX Deluxe edition for the default G1000 gauges to be present.
My apologies, I stand corrected. Thanks, Bill!Ken

"I load from the default cessna, which has engine off, avionics on, and everything else off."This is not recommended with any addon , one should load new aircraft from a default on setup and then do the shutdown and save that flight.

Joe,According to Bill Leaming (who did the coding) Acceleration is NOT required. SP1 and SP2 are required. The aircraft was designed and tested for FSX with SP1, SP2, and Acceleration all installed. And, per Bill, he tested it with SP1 and SP2, but NOT Acceleration installed.Cheers,Ken
Ha, re-read this a little too late - ordered Acceleration off of E-Bay :( .Took a risk at $20 rather than pay Amazon $50.Guess that will push me to buy the VRS F/A-18 now too. :( But, now I don't have to wait to buy the 310R. :( Joe

I think Acceleration is a very worthwhile upgrade for FSX. Of course, mine included SP2, and the combination of extra aircraft, the carrier ops, and the better gameplay made it a very positive option.Ken

Typically loading a complex aircraft, from a saved file or what have you, without first loading the default cessna, creates issues. At least that's how it was in FS9? Is that not the case here? You're saying we should save a flight for every addon we own?

In the case at hand wanting a cold cockpit at start-up , that is the reference i was making here.

When the a/c first loads, all the switches are set according the default "saved state," -OR- to however the last a/c used was left, if you've not shut down the sim...IOW, if you are flying another aircraft and suddenly switch to the C310, the engines will be running, all mag switches on, battery and avionics on, etc.

Knowing this, what is your suggestion on how to properly load this plane (or any other for that matter)?Thank!

Chuck,Not jumping on you here, but there are several addon aircraft where the "load default first then switch" IS recommended, and their developers categorically say that saving a flight with their addon isn't a good idea. Sometimes, you can get away with your method, and my experience with the MilViz C310 over the last couple of days is that it's one of the ones that lets you get away with it, but you can't say that Kreg's process is "not recommended with any addon".

Folks, need to make a very important announcement ...We have since learned that for this aircraft to work as we intend it to work, you need to have installed SP2 and Acceleration.Long story short, we thought we had tested for SP2 without Acceleration, but after the complaints we had from all our customers who had SP 2 without Acceleration, we went back and to our horror and embarrassment realized that even this computer was configured with Acceleration! In the immediate term, Colin has re-written the requirements section on the Flight1 point-of-sale site to reflect the truth that you need SP2 and Acceleration for this aircraft. In the long term, since we made what ended up misleading statements, Bill Leaming is working on new model files to allow the aircraft to work properly with SP2 (but not Acceleration) installed. This will obviously take some time, but we do want to make this right. If I may offer a personal recommendation it would be that Acceleration is, in my personal opinion, well worth the price. We already know of multiple cases where customers experiencing their initial problems had them all immediately disappear after installing Acceleration. So, this would certainly be a much more timely option than waiting for the re-worked additional models. When the new models are ready, Colin will add a separate link on the Flight1 sales site where you can get them.Sorry for the frustration this has caused for some of our customers.Cheers,Ken
