PMDG 737 NGX: PMDG's attitude toward realism

No one has designed a sarcasm detector yet that can handle sarcasm about the NGX's release date. :(
This is a RSP- RNAV thread. Required Sarcasm Performance.

Well I see that PMDG doesn't like to set a deadline for the release of their products and I certainly understand their reasoning. As the year dwindles down, however, they actually have imposed an implicit deadline upon themselves. They have said that it will be released in 2010, so it seems to me that the deadline for release of the 737NGX is Dec. 31, 2010. They only have about 2 mos. and 2 weeks to get it finished up. LOL. Sounds like a cheesy ultimatum. Jack C

While I'm sure they have every intention of releasing this bad boy before then, remember that the NGX was "coming soon" for a long time before it wasn't coming anytime siib and then it was coming "Mid-2010" (which while a squishy term, all possible definitions of "middle" ended on September 30), and then just 2010. They could just as easily change the date to 2011 or "soon" or "when we're done with it" rather than get it out in 2010. I don't think that'll happen, but I don't think your idea that Dec 31 is the deadline they set for themselves means that much to them in and of itself.

Personally I still believe it will be released this year and with room for play even. I think if it at all looked like it was going to go into next year that PMDG would tell us as soon as they would have seen it coming to that.

I don't know how often PMDG updates all the stuff on their website, but it still says "Coming 2010" on their NGX product page. I'm assuming that unless they say otherwise, its still on target for a release before the end of this year. I know PMDG doesn't say much about releases, but I'd think they'd tell us its not coming out until 2011 if it is delayed that much.

Yes i think it will be released on the 31st December :D

I see PMDG shooting for a Christmas release, or at the latest a post-Christmas release. If they hit that goal is another story, but I wouldnt put it past them being able to wrap this thing up and announce a release date around the first of December.

LOL, good thing it wasn't a T777-200LR, because Saifudeen Shamsudeen wouldn't have time to play, he has done the longest flights here at DVA/AFVA. He has done flights that are longer than they are supposed to, he did, what was supposed to be a 14 hour flight into a full day flight. I think he is a little crazy sometimes, but he is comitted to it.

The guy is just taking off and walking away from the computer for hours. Guys like him just want to see there name at the top of the list for flight hours at the virtual airline.
