November 17, 201015 yr I have to disagree.. The wilco jets are very unstable on 64bit. I cannot use the PIC737 on win7 64bit because there's a big chance i get DLL errors. There's a win7 fix but it didn't fix anything. I reinstalled PIC737 several times and even on a clean format I get DLL errors....So right no there's no proper 737 for FSX..even though FSX has been out for years. (737 is only the most flown jet in the world :( )PMDG better hurry :Big Grin:edit: oh and it doesn't work with FSINN eitherWe were talking about the Wilco Busses before, not any 737 stuff. So the A318-A321 and A330-A340 releases are mentioned when talking about x64 compatibility so far.
November 17, 201015 yr Yes, lots of repaints for the Airbus X on their forums but no Spirit A321. It was listed as painted in thread that showed off all the paints but the thing has never materialised. Sure, MS is a still a little US centric but FSX had upgraded airports all over the world. They didn't completely omit a country. It would be equal to releasing a sim with one city in the US, NYC.Why does the Airbus X discussion always turn in to a Wilco discussion? November 17, 201015 yr Why does the Airbus X discussion always turn in to a Wilco discussion? It's not a problem, is it? I only asked because Al was making some interesting points about why he's not bought the Aerosoft bus, and then commented on the continuing lack of a proper FSX bus generally. He mentioned other products but not the Wilco A320. I actually have that one, and to my untrained eye it seems a pretty reasonable simulation, albeit the graphics are showing their age of course, and it lacks the system accuracy and complexity of todays 'gold standard' products.I was all ready to order the Aerosoft bus when it first came out, but was put off by the bugs and widespread user dissatisfaction with the flight model. I'm glad it's improved, but I'm still not willing to put my money down in view of what I see to be pretty fundamental flaws. Anyway, I bought the excellent QW757 instead. Oops, I've done it again! :( Ian
November 17, 201015 yr Nope, I've not been tempted. I'd be interested in buying their proposed souped up version of it that will supposedly have more realistic systems which they mooted, but at the moment I don't really see the current offering as all that different from the default A321 or the lite Just Flight Airbus offerings - at least where it really matters to me - given that it doesn't make a serious attempt at the major functional differences in how an Airbus actually operates. We've had plenty of 'lite' and half-assed attempts at an Airbus FBW system over the years, and the current offering from Aerosoft is only a prettier offering in that same vein under the shiny external model. The better exception to that trend is presently the Aerosoft/SimCheck A300, but that's no FBW affair of course, even though it is a very convincing incarnation of the Airbus it attempts to portray. The first company to get a realistic FBW Airbus out the door which has a decent stab at doing the systems justice will have my money on the very day their product goes on sale, and I'd bet I'm not alone in that, so I'll be interested to see who wins that race. Since the Airsimmer A320 appears to have gone into an unrecoverable spiral dive at present, my money's probably on Flight Sim Labs managing it first, but I guess we'll see if Aerosoft decide to go for it fully on their present offering. And I hope they do, as it is a great looking model for sure.None of that should be taken to mean I think it's a poor product; I'm aware that some people don't give a damn about FBW intricacies, and I wouldn't wish to deny them that pleasure, it's just not the product I want. Gimme a realistic A320 for FSX and I'll cheerfully throw 200 quid at it for the privilege, and I don't even care if it has a naff external model either, it's the systems I want to see simulated, because that's really what makes an Airbus, an Airbus.AlDITTO Bill McIntyre Asus StrixB650E-F Gamer, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, Corsair Titanium DDR5 64GB, Samsung 990 PRO-4TB M.2, (4) 2TB SSD's, Corsair H1150i liquid cooler, RTX 2080TI Founders Edition, (2) LG 34" HD Curved Monitor, Sound Blaster Audigy X, 1Kw PC Power & Cooling Power Supply, Corsair Obsidian Full tower Case. November 17, 201015 yr Care to elaborate what's so special about 'airbus systems'? I'm airbus noob (yes probably because there hasn't been many proper airbuses) John doe
November 17, 201015 yr Still too much bugs for me with V1.22. Especially FADEC System is totally crap, engines react much too slow to achieve the selected speed of the aircraft.Parked in hangar and I hope they will fix these bugs in the near future.Flying a Wilco-Pairbus Merge which is in my opinion the best you can get at the moment. Regards, Mats Weinberger
November 18, 201015 yr Well it must be "my problem" on several systems then. I ALWAYS get gauge DLL errors when using them with a 64bit O/S (Vista and W7). In 32bit the W/FT Busses work fine. Al Stiff
November 18, 201015 yr The reason I didn't divert to mentioning things such as the Wilco Airbus offerings on that initial post (and to some extent the PSS and CLS ones too) is that although it is true they have a better stab at emulating what makes an Airbus an Airbus (i.e the FBW flight model protection systems and the flight management avionics), I don't think it's entirely fair to compare the Aerosoft A320 to those more in-depth attempts, since the target the Aerosoft 'Bus aims to hit is a little bit different and more in line with what the Just Flight Airbuses are about, that is to say, a quite nice model and VC and a fairly cursory attempt at the systems which doesn't really try (or claim to try) being an attempt at anything more than that. The Aerosoft Airbus A320 is a lite product, and a good one by all accounts, but that's not really what I want. I do sometimes buy 'lite' airliners, but that's when I can see a way to up the realism of them, and if the wonderful Integrated Sim Avionics package had some A320 avionics in there, I'd probably change my mind on that score with the Aerosoft A320, because I've used those to make a realistic B777 and B747 short range variant out of the AeroSim lite versions of those two birds by jamming souped up avionics into them.Ironically, I might actually buy the Just Flight A318 and A319 though, because there aren't many good models of them about, and they are not expensive. The point being, when someone does get a decent A320 out with a good stab at the systems, those JF ones might possibly be 'merge-able' (is that even a word?) with a decent A320 Airbus system to give us a fairly okay baby bus, and even if that proves impossible, then ten quid for two baby Airbuses is no great loss. I wouldn't do that with the Aerosoft A320 though, not because it is more expensive, but because it would be a moot point if they bring out an improved more realistic one, or for that matter if Flight Sim Labs get an A320 out with a similarly increased level of fidelity, which would of course also defeat the object of getting the lite Aerosoft A320.It's potentially an interesting time where Airbus A320s and Flight Simulator is concerned, with those very realistic ones hopefully on the way. So fingers crossed for either FSL or Aerosoft, or even Wilco if they revise their present offerings, as they have threatened to do. Of course, seasoned simmers will know we've been here before where expectations are concerned with even PMDG once having threatened to tackle the A320, but I reckon we'll get a good one this time if FSL's Concorde is anything to go by.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
November 18, 201015 yr Maybe a problem with the DEP or some other over-protective thing? My main problem is upon exit of the sim. I get a gauge.dll error each and every time. Sometimes as well during a flight. Al Stiff
November 18, 201015 yr I love it, its a pure work of art, being a fan of old-style-gauges its just all weird to me, but that's what keeps me coming back to fly it again and again
