Moving passengers from Orbx

This is indeed brillant and very promising. The technology and rechearch involved in such a project is outstanding with regard to FSX architecture that does not allow much animations without putting the computer on its knees.Kudos to the developers.

This is the final frontier for FSX. I purchased that incredible Orcas a couple of days ago, and noticed three suspicious-looking characters standing outside the KORS's general store. As someone else pointed out - Darrington, Concrete, Stark's - all could benefit from a small population. I would certainly accept fewer cars, GA or AI in order to see people walking somewhere. Darrington has one guy with a cellphone, and it grabs your attention. We need people: people who need people are the luckiest people in the world. Someone should write a song about this.

Very impressive Orbx I like the animation very nice! :( I really hope this can be developed even further it just look's amazing I always wanted this type of movement around the airport. Its just lifeless arriving at in airport big or small and not seeing people at all in it I wonder if theres a way to get them to go up too the door of in aircraft? and I guess maybe disappear afterwards? too make it look like there boarding. But I could imagine it would be very hard to get them to go up stairs? I always wished this was developed further, since after seeing the missions in fsx with people in it. but even just having the ramp workers doing there thing on the ramp would be really fantastic! :( and just seeing people do stuff in small airports would be awesome! :(

You could watch yourself doing a pre flight walk around. Then someone can produce a character design kit so you could design youself (at any age too). Kicking the tyres could have a whole new meaning. Plenty of potential from this innovation.

You could "hang out" with the flight attendants in the flew crew lounge ...  :(

Yeah, John - you could have a whole groundcrew for the Gnat.. your very own Palouste, your own lox trolley... a body to pull the seat pins.... it'll never end! :(

I cannot wait to have one of these folks to be sucked through my outboard engine. Maintenance will be a little bit upset!

No thanks been there done that and changed tha wheels with some instrument basher purging the lox system at the same time. No guesses for where the lox vent was (right above my cranium!). :( Merry Christmas.PS there were no seat pins on a Gnat it was a lever that stuck into the pilots neck if the system was live. 10 bob fine if the knucklhead got out and left the seat live. :(

John, You must have been shown this safety flick,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9sIT6P_05IWe saw this in the NAVY.

Yeah - I read that sometime in this last year or so, but you'd think I would remember arming the seat, but I don't know why I don't. As far as I'm aware - there were just two Gnats in the air force when I got to Rissy - roughly the middle of '62, and I would almost swear they had pins on a - maybe 1/8th - 3/16th stranded cable, the pins being placed into a bracket or something on the side of the seat, (just prior to smacking tapping the jockey's hat). The 3rd Gnat arrived a few days, maybe a couple of weeks later with four or five more arriving spread over a few more months, and having a different numbering series. You might well be right, though, John; I'll have to take a boo at some old 'photos, and maybe do a bit of digging.Edit: - Found a pic w/me in the seat, and the lever is there with it's little black knob at neck height. Gettin' too old...Thanks, and Merry Christmas right back!

Hi guys, the point of the video is to show the animations not where the people are walking or that they would be placed like this on a tarmac. I suppose Russ should have stuck them on a parking lot or in an empty hanger for this tech demo dry.gif Cheers, Holger
Great work SandMan!

No such thing as safety films in the RAF and tractors to pull the lox trolley's around it's all just too much. Ah, America land of FOD.

PaulI must see what I can dig up. I stopped wearing blue in Feb 65 from memory. I was given the chance to go to Rissington as a Yellowjack team member but had started to work on my ticket out so I stayed at Valley. 685316.:(

Actually, there are still a few airports where you do sort of wander out to the aeroplane. Off the top of my head I recall that Almeria is one where it still happens, Galway is another and I seem to remember doing that once at Tampere too. And to be honest, even if they don't do that at many airports these days, I still think it would look cool to have people tramping out to the air stairs of my 737 instead of simply imagining they are using an air bridge.Al
Maybe it's not too common over there in england, but at smaller airports with less traffic, boarding on foot is not too uncommon. Infact, living in finland, i've only boarded via jetway once, in Helsinki-Vantaa going to Rome. When flying back from Rome, passengers were transferred to airplane via bus, and then walk to the airplane. I think the plane was Boeing 757. Same was at Gran Canaria, bus-ride to plane and then walk into the aircraft.Maybe that is uncommon to see on your flights, over there in england. But it is not uncommon in the world, nono. And indeed i've also boarded the plane like you stated at tampere, flying Rayanair B737 from Tampere to Riga.About CrowdFlow itself, can't wait to see it in action. Also not only passengers, i hope there will be airport services animated, too. No need to beg Orbx to get AES support, they can make it themself's, like Al said. :(
