December 11, 201015 yr For those of you with IAD issues, they have released an update. Although I don't own IAD (yet), I would assume that this update fixes the common issues with the lighting. Hopefully CLT will be next.http://www.imaginesim.com/ MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
December 11, 201015 yr Moderator LOL, I just posted the same thing an hour before you.Let us know if it makes any difference in performance. I am still considering getting this airport. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

It was after the v2 KATL upgrade that the lights then looked like this Jim Wenham
December 11, 201015 yr The update doesn't fix crap. I am so ###### about how these companies can actually release garbage like this. Yet they complain about why people bark at them. I am using words that really mask they way I feel right now. I would STAY AWAY from imagine sim if I were you. I have never been compelled to bad mouth a developer before but this is total non-sense. Don t release an update that doesn't fix anything. Hell, don't release a product if it hasn't been fully tested. December 11, 201015 yr Author Matthew, what problems are you having with the scenery? These updates are supposed to fix one major, very specific issue. In many of their older FSX products, the airports were not usable in some versions of FSX. There was a problem with the night lighting that resulted in less than 1fps when the lights were on. Also, the lights were very large. It wasn't a low FPS issue, it was a no FPS issue. Many people never had this issue. AFAIK, that is the only major issue they are trying to fix. If you are looking for minor fixes, reduction in shimmering or FPS gains, I don't think you are going to get those fixes. Honestly, I don't see how these are really new versions, they are more like patches.Did you have the night lighting FPS issue? If so, are you saying that you are still getting close to 0 fps with the runway lights on?If so, there is a DIY fix available here at AVSIM. I am assuming it works because I fixed CLT using the same method. I don't own IAD but I will probably buy it after VIDP is released so I can get the discount on WSSS, SJC and IAD.Here is the thread. The DIY process looks complicated but it isn't once you get in to it. December 11, 201015 yr I do own this scenery and have little or no problems with it. Considering how often my VA flies in and out of KIAD, this is an add-on I use alot and enjoy. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual

I tried the fix and it fixes the lights but it makes the runways look like thy have center stripe fulll of mowed grass while the edges are concrete. I may have been hasty in my last post because i do enjoy imaginesim's products. It just sucks when i got so excited to see an update posted and the update doesn't fix anything lol. Anybody have any suggestions? FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠 Matt Kubanda, 7950X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 5090@4k, MSFS 2024

I found there were some elevation issues with both present and that may account for the grass.DJ

Anyone else see elevation issues with V2? I have made sure only the newest "ADE" AFCAD files are in the scenery directory. Please post your results here and if necessary, I'll refer the thread to their support link. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE

December 13, 201015 yr The update fixes NOTHING for me. I just emailed them. The installer is putting files in the root KIAD folder along with the KIAD\scenery folder. I have no idea why this thing isnt working. The installer only updates about 5-10 files for me. Is this the same with you guys? Is this the same with you guys?Yup, same thing here - it puts one of the the old-style AFCAD (with parked aircraft) and about 10 or 15 exclude files in the root, one level up from the scenery file. These are from late 2008 and then it puts early 2008 copies of these same exclude files in the scenery sub folder. I just tried the upgrade again with the same results. It also put an old (with parked aircraft) back in the scenery subfolder as well along with the newer (12/1/2010) ADEX AFCAD files - something is wacked... Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
December 13, 201015 yr Dang - an extra AFCAD (FSX_KIAD.bgl) was indeed the problem with sunken AI. FSX Airport Scanner to the rescue again - thanks scruffyduck (Jon). I'm not sure what the excludes in the root folder are all about, but it looks much better now without duplicate AFCADs. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE

Or just aircraft and elevation. FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠 Matt Kubanda, 7950X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 5090@4k, MSFS 2024
