My Ariane Story

You'll spend more time and energy on this than what it's worth.
Well when my way of life and my family's way of life is threatened, I take it very personal. I think they are just idle threats, but I do have to be ready to fight just in case. I wont allow them to get away with it.

JeremyI'm so sorry that you have now suffered at the hands of 'whoever's behind Ariane' (a little research here at AVSIM will identify who that person is.......)This behaviour is not unusual - many (including myself) have been threatened with pseudo-legal rubbish by this 'person' (and/or his various aliases,) who amoungst other things believes he knows enough about law to make 'legal threats'. Believe me, it's all rubbish and not worth wasting time (or money) on. If (and it's a massive 'if') you hear from an actual lawyer, then take it seriously. But until then, just feel sorry for the poor deluded guy. From what you say, you have done nothing but tried to help and therefore have absolutely nothing to 'defend' or be concerned about. And with similar products about to be launched in direct competition, I suspect that Ariane will just be a bad memory quite soon.....Toni.

Very well said Toni.Thanks.

Personally I think some people are right to give this guy a hard time. It's people like him that keep blindly throwing money at the company no matter how little they change their tune. Captain Sim has done a complete 180 and you don't see much bad attitude directed at them anymore. Ariane get everything they deserve, and gullible people who fall into their trap do as well.

Christ, are you always like this? :(
Yes - when I smell sour grapes. The OP worked for Ariane without noticing its standard of service. It was only after he'd had a squabble with Ariane that he came here and told us what we've known for a long time. Ariane service and support is appaling.

Sorry David, but I couldn't disagree with you more.Have you never made a similar mistake and been 'duped'? Many years ago, I was duped into believing that this 'person' behind Ariane was really genuine and I put a whole load of effort into supporting him, just to find out how wrong I could be. He's very good at 'reeling people in', particularly for free, only to use them until they're no longer of use. Then he simply discards them and treats them as if they were his worst enemy. Lies, threats, more lies, attacks, etc. soon follow. It's clear that Jeremy was so 'duped' and has learned a hard lesson - but it hurts and it's not his fault. So why take a pop at him? Each must form their own conclusions about Ariane and it's 'staff' - but it's only through threads like this that 'newbies' may want to do more research before getting sucked in.Toni.

I think there are a good deal of people in this thread that are missing the point. And the childish comments of others have again brought the tone of the thread into a disagreement. As one of the early posters mentioned, this information is of benefit to those who are new to this hobby and also those that have yet to discover ariane. Of course we are all able to draw our own conclusions, but others are guided by people talking from experience. So with this in mind it is totally unnecessary for others to berate the original poster for trying to inform the wider community of something they may not be aware ofTom

I have to agree with Tom...the OP posted not to gain sympathy, not to seek a shoulder to cry on, but to warn others (yes...those new to FSX, among others) to beware. He should be thanked for that service.

...and that's the sort of thing that can get you in legal trouble, especially when you had a working relationship with a group/company, and had a falling out as appears to be the case here. He's leaving himself open for a defamation suit, when you publicly criticize a company, to warn prospective buyers. It's one thing to do it on an issue that can be proven easily like a defect/bug in the product. To do it on something subjective like support, it can be seen as defamation. As many here may agree with the OP about it, A company can probably produce a number of people that can testify to the opposite position. Even if he won in court, it would cost him time and money, and if he lost much more. It's not worth it!! IMHO The best thing is just to walk away and call it a day.

Thanks

how is thread any different than the 'employee thread' posted a few months ago about airsimmer? the OP is putting forward information that relates to a 'personnel issue' and has no place here ... especially as the OP makes a point of stating, "First let me first say, I have absolutely no issues with the Ariane products themselves."there are also no confirmed facts, as with the airsimmer thread. there is no way to confirm the information besides bringing in 'the blood sucking lawyers.'--

As an informed consumer I support companies that treat their workers well, and withhold my business from those that do not. It may not be relevant to every consumer's purchasing decisions, but working conditions are absolutely relevant to mine, whether we're talking about clothing or flightsim addons. This post addresses that concern, and therefore bears directly on my purchasing decisions. Surely that's part of what this forum is for? While it's true in a sense that the information is not "confirmed" (whatever that means--determined by a fact finder in a court of law?) and we are only hearing one side of the story, I would hardly say that the story related is implausible, given what is known about this company and its operating practices. I can't say I'm too concerned that Airsimmer is actually being defamed (since truth is an absolute defense and this story seems to me to have the ring of truth), but if they really believe they are being unfairly maligned they are welcome to come and tell their side of the story on this forum as well--or else to actually seek legal recourse, rather than make idle threats.James

I guess one has to ask if there is any place where it is safe to speak one's mind? If not, I'd say the world as we know it is gone forever and all of us were asleep while it happened.John

Can you confirm any information in any thread, in any forum on the whole Internet? Nope, didn't think so.Next I want you to prove that this forum really exists and is not a part of our imagination. For a finale, please prove that I am real and really posted this.
In the last hour I have consulted an attorney and he has advised me to send them a threatening response as well. I can't believe a hobby (especially one I passionately enjoy) has been taken to the level where I have to hire an attorney.

based on the first above comment, cactus John, that time passed some time ago. i suggest you read Life Without Lawyers: Liberating Americans from Too Much Law by Philip K. Howard.Do you know the reasoning for me to contact an attorney for consult? Do you know the circumstances of the threats that I recieved? I didn't think so, and I chose to keep them to myself because of the seriousness of the matter. You have no basis to place your comments. Until you know the circumstances, you should keep your comments to yourself. Obviousley there is a reason why I felt it necessary to get a consultation. What would you do if someone threatened your And your family's way of life? I would hope that you would fight back as I have chosen to do. Otherwise you'll be allowing others to walk all over you.--
