Tinmouse 737-200 error on startup

Featured Replies

I downloaded the Tinmouse 737-200ADV which is in today's new files. The plane works perfectly with 2 exceptions.1. On starting the file, I get an error message that FS2AUDIO.DLL failed to load with the error 0x7e. I've already put the dll file into my system 32 folder (Vista Home). I've also tried registering the dll but get an error message that the file can't be found at that location.2. Although I can see the flaps going down in the external view, in the cockpit view, the flap indicator doesn't move from the fully up indication. If anyone has downloaded this plane and has any answers for these two problems, I'd really appreciate some help. ThanksBTW, the plane looks outstanding.

Hi,FS2Crew let Tin Mouse use the FS2Crew Audio Engine... we gave the Tin Mouse the power of sound in FSX, hahaha :( You need to have the latest DirectX files installed. Please download them from the Microsoft website. That should clear your issue.Does the Tin Mouse installer not update your DirectX files for you?

My guess is reinstall and right click on the setup file and select run as administrator.

I have the same results in XP. I get the sound error and the flaps don't work at all. Bob.

Where I'm now confused is, at Microsoft.com, the updates talk about direct x 9.0c. But I already have direct x 10 installed. Wouldn't that upgrade actually take me backwards? BTW, the sounds all work when I fly the Tinmouse. I'm just wondering if the error message is itself an error.

Update: Solved by installing latest DirectX files

This isn't about DX9 vs DX10...there have been periodic updates to DX9. The FS2AUDIO engine uses Microsoft's XACT audio engine, and that requires an updated version of DirectX 9 on your PC.CheersBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Make sure you haven't messed with the tailhook settings in the aircraft.cfg...the landing lights in the model use the hook animation, and if it's removed from the aircraft.cfg that'll happen. Some people have taken it out so they don't get the green stripe message in FS9. One good thing about the FSX version is that in FSX you can suppress those messages.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
