February 17, 201115 yr Saw this and signed a few years ago.The fact that nothing happened disgusts me to a whole new extent.
February 17, 201115 yr Hey Guys, There are Aviation related stories to animal abuse. Some airlines carry animal cargo to destinations where they conduct Animal Testing. One example is Air Canada shipping monkeys from China to labs in Monteal destined for Animal Testing.Air Canada has commented they did have a policy to not ship the animals destined for animal testing however that policy was overuled under Canadian Government Regulations as Air Canada is publicly funded. Here is a recent artlicle on the topic:http://www.cbc.ca/te...-aircanada.html Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

This was the first use of a heart lung "machine". And it's success helped to spur on research for a mechanical device that could do a similar job.Using animals for medical purposes is not a black and white argument-especially if you have to make such a decision for a loved one.AR

If you research this story further and see how those monkeys are treated and raised in China and the way they are transported you would question those practices. These animals do not need to be subjected to those types of abuse for their noble cause. This is why carriers such as British Airways, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Northwest Airlines, Qantas Airways, South African Airways, Delta Air Lines, Eva Air and China Airlines have banned transporting these monkeys. They don't wish to partake in the abuse while the animals are being farmed in China and transported. I am sure many of those companies employees have different views on animal testing as well. This isn't really about the question as to wether or not animal testing is right or wrong as it is about the treatment of the animals while they are being raised for animal testing. Also as a New Zealand Resident I question many of the practices for raising Chickens. In New Zealand we have mostly free range chickens and our eggs and chickens taste so much better then the ones you guys have over there in America. Again it is about how you raise an animal. I would easily argue that here in New Zealand we have some of the best tasting livestock found anywhere in the world, that's because of the way we raise them. February 18, 201115 yr Just because an animal is destined to be killed for food or animal testing, etc.....doesn't give anyone the right to treat them like crap. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
February 23, 201115 yr I only watched bout 30 secs. That was enough for me.The thing is, If you are not Chinese, you can't change anything in China. If you are Chinese, you are not going to see this video. In the end, I am more concerned about how the Chinese treat their own people. If they can't treat people properly, how can we expect them to treat animals properly? The people have to change their own country - it can't be done from the outside. Until they are ready to do so, the situation will remain the same. And when they do decide to change things in China, I believe the treatment of dogs and cats is going to be pretty low on the totem pole. Sad but true. Since you can't do anything about China at this time, how about making a difference here at home? You can do a lot more good by volunteering at a greyhound rescue than you can by signing a petition. If anyone wants to volunteer for a Racing Greyhound rescue, I can point you in the right direction. These dogs need homes and they make amazing pets. Even if you can't adopt one, they need volunteers to transport them from the tracks, bathe them and foster them until they find their "forever home". They will take donations as well. Where ever you are, there is probably a greyhound rescue near you. Some groups are anti-racing where others remain neutral. We adopted our pup from a neutral organization. For many rescue groups, the tracks have become great partners and the abuse of these incredible creatures has subsided in the past few years. It happened because people in the community, at the grass roots level, decided change was needed. This doesn't even address one of the most common problems in urban America - dog fighting. Do something to stop that - it is within your realm of influence. It just kills me to know that greyhounds, because of their docile nature, were used as bait dogs for dog fighting. Now that the rescue groups have partnered with the tracks, far fewer dogs are being euthanized or being sold for purposes other than as house pets. You can make a difference but you need to pick you battles. February 24, 201115 yr Author Hi JeffMuch as I admire and respect anyone choosing to help the lives of species other than just our own, I'm not sure I agree with some of your points..."If you are Chinese, you are not going to see this video."There are thousands of young Chinese students studying outside of China and, as we've all seen over recent weeks, if there's any one group of people who have the courage to at leat try to change things, it is young people.Also... "If they can't treat people properly, how can we expect them to treat animals properly?" In my opinion, the very oposite of that statement can be just as valid. There is indeed, nothing whatsoever that we can do to influence the Chinese goverment. There is however, a great deal we can do to enable a better awareness of such things. February 24, 201115 yr THIS IS NOT ONLY AN EXTREMELY UNUSUAL POST, BUT ALSO A PLEADING REQUEST...( I sought and obtained AVSIM permission before posing)I wonder if AVSIM would have granted permission if someone wanted to post a petition against death penalty in your and other countries. I find that at least as horrible as skinning animals alive...Marco "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

I find that at least as horrible as skinning animals alive...MarcoI take your point, but... I really don't want this to become Political, so I'll keep this very brief... There is no death penalty in my country - has not been for a very, VERY long time. February 25, 201115 yr Let's say someone breaks into my house, holds a gun to my head and says to pick one to die: 1.my dog,2. my wife, or 3. me. In my view, the answer could be very different for different situations. 1. What if my wife bought this dog without consulting me. That's fine, but what if it's an irritating little yappy dog that hates me. If I pick the dog than my wife would hate me.2.What if I'm in a really bad marrige...3. What if 1 and 2 are true, plus I lost my job and am about to to be foreclosed on, and have no hope for the future. Now, expand this into the world. The intruder could be what ever culture you live in. 1 would be, of course, animals. 2 could be people. 3 would be ourselves. Which is more important?Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
