wilco Airbus Evolution released!

Did some checking and have some followup data:First, on the weather radar in the A320CFM, I have a Delta Livery for that model, and was flying it, so I know the radar works. You said you didn't have a switch forit, are you aware the switch ONLY works on the pop-up console (Shift 3) and not inthe texture of the VC?I looked and the file, "Airbus Evolution Notes.pdf" is in the A318 directorynot A320, and here is a quote from that:Note: The radar switch is in the 2D cockpit only, it can not be manipulated from thevirtual cockpit. And a second quote about the radar:VERY IMPORTANT : the Weather Radar range must be set between 20 and 80 Nm.If you select 10 Nm range, the radar won’t be active.Secondly, I have no gps_export.dll in my MODULES directory, and importing FS plansworks just fine. From google I see that is a FS9 module, and obviously I don't needit in FSX so neither should you.

Thank you for your answers.I found the button for switching HUD on, I did read the manual but I missed this info.. I saw about "W", 2d only,... but missed the button on the 2d panel. And yes, I do know weather radar can be switched on only in 2d panel.. as I said, I works with all (I tried it) but A320 CFM... sadly most of my preferred liveries are for A320 CFM, go figure. Yeah, it's strange for me too but believe me, I tried everything for it.. house livery, downloaded all a320CFM from Wilco site,... the weather radar switch on 2d panel doesn't work, I can't click there, nothing moves, nothing. It works perfectly good with all the other models.I guess this gps_export.dll is not mandatory for FSX though I don't understand why the FAQ says that FSX installs it and from what I read it looks like it's needed for importing flighplans. I guess it's not.

That's fairly odd, the WR works on both the A318 and the A320, and every livery on my system. As as the import FP function, I seldom use it but it works fine too, so it might have to do with errors upon install on your machine.Cheers!

So you can confirm WxR works in A320 CFM? Because in IAE it works for me too. I know, wierd. I can't imagine what kind of install errors there could be.. I installed literally hundreds of complex addons... aircrafts (PMDG,..), airports (FSDT,...), almost all of Orbx NA stuff,... and I never got any errors. I must be doing something wrong (if I'm the only with this problem - that's why I ask here ;) or there is some bug that comes out in certain circumstances.. the only thing that comes into mind is the fact I had E.M. update installed before I installed Evolution and I didn't uninstall it since there is nothing in the manual about this. That's the only thing different from "default" Wilco Airbus installation.

There is something flakey with the weather radar, becausealthough I've definitely had it display, at other timesI'm looking out the cockpit and seeing clouds but nada ondisplay... Will need more investigation.

I bought vol 2 upgrade last night. Its surprising, but the CTD thatI get in vol 1 when putting the FROM/TO string into the INIT page doesNOT crash on vol. 2. If Wilco is lurking here that's important data.In fact, I flew the A330-200 GE from KONT to KPDX, and had no problemsworth noting. I need more testing, but so far I'm very pleased withwhat I'm seeing.OH, I did see one oddity just while testing some departures out of KPDX,even though the plane did seem to follow all the waypoints of the SID,the flight computer still seemed to jump past a couple in the display.I need to try out more RNAV SIDs to see if its a theme.

Yes, I do confirm it does work with CFM liveries on my system

<br />Now that vasFMC has been released.....No one else needs to make the mistake of buying the Wilco Airbus.....<br /><br /><a href='http://vas-project.org/' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://vas-project.org/</a><br /><br /><a href='http://forum.vas-project.org/viewtopic.php?id=1178' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://forum.vas-pro...pic.php?id=1178</a><br /><br /><a href='http://vas-project.org/docu21/index.htm' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://vas-project.o...ocu21/index.htm</a><br /><br />M.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />
<br /><br /><br />Can this be integrated into the Aerosoft Airbus?

Oh well, I guess it's my problem than.I made a mistake. Importing flight plans works! The selection (Import FP) is grayed out in FMC so I thought it doesn't work.

Needs to be asked on the vasFMC forum. In Any case Aerosoft is working on an advanced Airbus X v2 which will be more for the hard core simmer....But I have a feeling things are just beggining to get interesting....M.

<br /><br /><br />Can this be integrated into the Aerosoft Airbus?
Allright, guys...I have installed the "Upgrade" it functions in an acceptable manner !Let's put it this way. To date Wilco is the best Airbus add-on you will find (Period). Yes, I know there are some some limitations. But, come-on guys, those of you who are turning up-side-down and yelling and screaming, do you realize that Wilco is the only one who has bravely done "as real as it grts" ? No one else has done it. Everyone seems to be able to develop a Boeing. In fact, there are Boeing products all through our noses. --- Are you a real pilot and that's how you measure this product? Wake up friend! It is impossible to compare a multi-million machine (the real thing) with a $50.00 bunch of "little graphics" to play on her your home computer.--- Are you a pilot "wana-be" or a "pilot-wanted-to-be" and you say the product is bad because you are reading articles that may be close to "how to fly an Airbus", and then you realize it doesn't fly or those what you have read on Google, or You-tube? Well, sorry, you will not find one product out there that will do anyhing close to the real thing (period).--- Observation: I've noticed some people enter these forums and they seem to just "blah-blah-blah" based on what they have read or heard from others. Folks if you have never flown (PIC) a real Airbus, how can you critize the work of some-one who has done the "best" they can so that you can satisfy the "pilot-wana-be" hunger. The only realistic way to satisfy that hunger is by paying some top dollar to fly in a real Airbus simulator or a real airplane.--- Folks this is the best we have now...Learn to say "Thank you" When aanother developer have the big enough "marbles" and capabilities to develop another Airbus that can get another little step close to the real thing, then (and until then) we can say this new product is better than Wilco"s...HOWEVER, I CAN ASSURE YOU, that you WILL ALWAYS (ALWAYS) FIND A DIFFICIENCY IN EVERY ONE OF THESE PRODUCTS-- ALWAYS ! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll jump on my Airbus A340-600(Wilco's) and try to stall this thing (It never stalls...My eyes will stall, before this beauty of technology will stall). And then I'll do a CAT lll landing on a stormy weather, and see this Airbus perform a marvel of a landing before my own eyes...Ahhh, how beautiful it functions...And some people say it doesn't work. Are you kidding, me? Either you have a lousy computer or you have NOT learn how to fly this wonder ! :( Johnny
Whlst I am willing to give credit to Wilco for an attempt at an Airbus - that is all it is - an attempt. Moreover it is flawed attempt which they have never, to my knowledge, tried to correct. You can put lipstick on a pig but it will always be a pig. The problem is if, like Wilco, you claim to have produced an Airbus sumulation which you are charging a reasonable sum of money for it engenders a not unreasonable expectation among the purchasers of said product that it should at least simulate the basic functions of an Airbus because that is what simulations do. Whichever way you look at it, managed descent is a core Airbus function - it is integral to the Airbus design philosophy and fundemental to the automation model. This has never worked on Vol1 to my knowledge and remains problematic on Volume 2. If you can't simulate this, you don't have a simulation you have a 'game'. You clearly like playing the game, which is fine, but it isn't a simulation - which is what most of us are complaining about. Before you criticise me for having no knowledge of how an Airbus operates I can assure you that I do.... and not from a desktop computer !.Charging money for the application of lipstick on something you are trying to pass off as a serious simulation doesn't seem to me to be particularly honest way of doing business . If they had stated on their website that managed descent is broken and won't be fixed it would have been a different matter - buyer beware and all that - but they didn't, which is why I and many others on this forum are not prepared to be cheerleaders for Wilco. We'll hang onto our cash and wait for FSLABS. The latter managed to produce Concorde with a very high degree of fidelity, so I reckon they have a pretty good chance of delivering a decent Airbus which at least simulates the core functions.

Apparently, the answer is: "tough luck dude, we have your money
No that's Airsimmer to a tee.
