May 16, 201115 yr It's an impressive airplane. The video with FS2Crew is simply marvelous! For those that use FS2Crew, how easy is it to set up? I'm going on a buying spree.Very easy, run the installer, open the iFly config manager, select and update each model which FS2Crew version you have (I would highl recommend the voice version), run FS and fly! Be sure to read the FS2Crew manual and be prepared to print the command list if you get the voice version.Since the FSX version won't release till later today, I'll post some more videos. I plan on doing one at night in bad weather using the BBJ which has the HUD, and one in dense scenery areas. Any other requests I'll try to accomidate.
May 16, 201115 yr Thanks, Jeremy, I really appreciate your work there and I think that Vincent wasn't talking (and intending) to sound disrespectful at all. Maybe the impression just came from reading the words with the wrong accentuation. :smile:As said, you showed the professionals how it's done since one can read your fps counter all the time while they have to answer fps questions now. Now who's the pro there, huh?Concerning pros, did you guys know that iFly are part time devs "only"? :( A big admiration there for the job itself and also the timely manner of releasing new stuff and updates. Incredible skill and attitude there.Together with the support attitude, this becomes even more impressive.'Captain, we need your decision about the approach now!''Ehm, wait, there's an interesting forum question I'd like to answer first.'

Maybe the impression just came from reading the words with the wrong accentuation. :(I can understand that, I did just wake up to go to work for my mid-shift after working during the day as well. I'm quite a bear when I awake lol. I think when it comes to addons, FPS is the most important thing over anything else. You can throw all the bells and whistles you want into an addon, but if it runs like a constant slide show, you're not going to be able to enjoy those features. I can say that with the iFly, I was extremely impressed at the frame rates.
May 16, 201115 yr You name it, Jeremy. If the fps go too low, the whole stuff isn't fun to use.My system is close to yours, so I'm looking forward to the iFly after your reports and videos and I don't think that the PMDG will lead to big fps trouble too, but maybe more impact than the iFly now has. So maybe just the "safe margin" gets reduced a bit, but these are just assumptions of course, there are no fps videos out from the PMDG side so far.

May 16, 201115 yr Hahaha, PMDG kicked the iFly thread from its forum. LOL. Talking about being conservative.Oh btw. the iFly forum is getting totally hammered and replies averaging at 30seconds...

May 16, 201115 yr Yes, how dare they remove a discussion about a competitor's product from their support forums! They should have nothing to fear. They have a great product coming out, why then remove the topic showing there "is" a reason... ah well. Lock would have sufficed.
May 16, 201115 yr They should have nothing to fear. They have a great product coming out, why then remove the topic showing there "is" a reason... ah well. Lock would have sufficed. They do it because it fuels unhealthy debate, and lets face it thats where most discussions about competing products goes, especially when the fanbois turn up .... lol.Bryan.
May 16, 201115 yr Thanks! Is this the product?http://www.fs2crew.c...le-Package.html Yes, be sure to enter the coupon code FSX737 to receive 25% off!As promised, I am uploading a video of the iFly in dense scenery, New York to be precise. It should be finished uploading in about 45 minutes.
May 16, 201115 yr Nice one again and indeed looking smooth. I like the VOR needle fluctuation there, nice little detail. Can you do another one with the VSD in action? Just a wish though, maybe it gets released soon, so I can test it myself.

If not released by the time I get up, I'll do another with the VSD...maybe in Toncontin.

May 16, 201115 yr yes judging by what PMDG are doing they have no worries at all. The iFly is very nice and well made with good FPS, but PMDG have been making very high quality aircraft that are cutting edge for a long time and from the videos they have posted this will be a very special machine. I honestly wish both companies the best of luck. We need people like these guys to keep flightsimming alive.
