Ifly 737 fsx

If PMDG sets the price as high as that, I can see them losing customers quickly. That is way too much for a single FSX aircraft addon, no matter how realistic. They are gonna lose customers to iFly, and that very quickly. A realistic price of some 60 dollars is gonna keep the things in perspective though and here I would see many people getting both.
60 dollars is unrealistic. 119.99 combo deal for 737 FSX/FS9 version maybe. (Same as MD-11) or flat 99.99 for FSX only.

I'd never pay $100 for a single plane.
I would, but I think that $80 is the sweet spot for the PMDG 737NGX, and the iFly 737 at $55 is priced appropriately.

Based on what?  Why the difference?

PMDG has direct access to official Boeing technical documentation, access to Boeing staff for technical questions, official Boeing 737 NG manuals, deeper systems simulation (in my estimation based on PMDG staff comments), higher resolution virtual cockpit textures, Angle of Attack training materials, persistent maintenance, and the ability to change all options/configurations (except for the winglets) without accessing FSX menus or reloading the aircraft. Also, comments like this from real world pilots:I flew the NG (-700) for 7.5 years. I'm flying heavier tins now :)The aircraft is coming along nicely . It's beyond the "every switch moves" philosophy we've seen until now. Every switch DOES move, doing the normal action, but also tickling the right switches you resolve all NNC (non-normal checklist) issues you can imagine... In other words, every system is modeled for both normal ops and every kind of failure you can imagine. When was the last time you saw different voltages with various type of electric failures and electrical loads? ;) Get your QRH ready gents! Without revealing any fancy details I can assure you that when this puppy hits the stores, the forum will get full of posts like "It should do this but it doesn't. I pressed that button no joy. On every other Boeing addon I have, this system works like that". Forget what you know gents. It's time to learn the NG like it really is. Remember the fires with the J41? Most of us thought that we actually know how to start the damn Garrett TPEs. You'll get the same feeling with the NG even during the preflight flows. You want my motto about the NGX? Learning the B737 the way it's supposed to be. Regarding the flight model it's still under tweaking. When was the last time you heard developers working on things like the "feeling" of the turn. We're not talking about the "numbers" of the turn. They're all there. Now we're working on the feeling! After many 1000s of hours flying jets I find myself intrigued when I have to explain quality factors instead of quantity and stupid numbers and graphs. But I assure you man, it's all there. Both brains and heart.

Bryan York has just released the iFly FS2Crew FSX versions, so we're really getting closer here I think. There are voice and button control versions out, always including FS9 and FSX installers. There also is a special bundle available if you want button and voice control edition together.Surely a nice addition in any way. First time I'm buying it before having the plane. ^_^I think the most important part will be Alan's voice of course. So the English voice set may include him if I remember things correctly. :(

yay for the changes on the main site hehe. I means they are doing stuff =)Batting%20Eyelashes.gif
What is the link to the site where th w iFly B73NG is featured? I've tried Yahoo bite drugging seems to link to the FS9 version. Thanks, Bruce.

I just watched the videos on youtube of both the pmdg and the Ifly that a gift of sight winner posted and to me the PMDG looks like a whole generation more advanced. just the HUGS alone is amazing. Right now I only have the level-d 767 and the wilco airbus series 1 for planes ( I only fly the level-d) and I really want a 737 since I don't always have time for long haul.. I might just buy both of them since I love the 737. It's just kind of hard to spend money on the IFLY when from what we have seen the PMDG plane is clearly more advanced and I think it will live up to the hype and break a lot of new ground.

I have been following both products, and I'm in awe with what iFLY was able to accomplish, especially in terms of systems functionality, considering they are much smaller than PMDG and don't have the direct access to Boeing PMDG enjoys. I can't believe that after this long of a wait since FSX was released, two high quality simulations of the same exact aircraft are due to release at about the same time (IMHO Ariane's FSX NG does not count). I am betting iFLY will come out Monday or Tuesday at the latest, and PMDG's within the next 2 weeks. I only wish iFLY's FSX NG was released earlier, because as much as I want to buy it it's just cutting it way too close to PMDG's impending release. PMDG must be biting their nails, iFLY is offering quite the bang for the buck. I don't believe two competing products of a simulated aircraft (at least with similar systems depth and visual eye candy) have ever been released this close to one another, it would seem inconceivable because of the tiny niche of flight simulation, and the even smaller piece of the pie that by the book, systems geek simulations take of that small market. This is the most exciting time ever for flightsim airliner aficionados!

The Jury IMO is still out on what both will bring to the table. I have iFlys FS9 bird and it puts most FSX complex A/Cs to shame. The problem with iFly is that relied on Gift of Sight Winners to release pre-look videos (unpolished, not necessarily high end encoding/graphics) whereas PMDG's pre-look video had more of a production value look to it(Trackir/Better Encoding/etc). I was happy to see ifly's 737 in action, but truth be told I got more hyped watching PMDGs. Ifly's committment to perfection over the last few months have proven to me that they are in it to win it,dog. Constant refinements/additions and a killer SDK coupled with the greatest integration with FS2Crew makes it a must-buy IMO.

It's been a long time coming. A quality 737 has been needed since the PMDG 737 for FS9! I almost gave in to Ariane a few times but have held out for this day, and now we have 2.

Steve said it best when he stated that the more time they take to make videos, the more time away from developement is taken. I'm sorry my videos (which were the first one's I had ever done) were not up to PMDG quality. I simply wanted to show her off to people without any editing to show you what you really get. I did in fact use TrackIR except in video 1. But you have taught me a lesson. If I can't make videos up to PMDG quality, I shouldn't take out my free time to make them for you and let you see her for yourself. Sorry they were not up to standards...
