May 18, 201115 yr I haven't seen this post anywhere, but this may be to soon to ask or even have any words for it.Will the NGX be compatible with Microsoft flight? From what I know they are rebuilding the whole engine for the sim.PMDG have you came in contact with the development group? Including the rest of the PMDG fleet.. :rolleyes:Sean L -Sean L PPL + IFR, SEL HP/Complex.. LAS WN Ground Ops
May 18, 201115 yr This has been asked several times and as far as I know it hasn't been said yet. Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!

May 18, 201115 yr The problem with MS Flight is that no Addon-Developer has any information about it yet. So at the moment nobody can say if the NGX or any FSX product will work with little updates. regards, Alexander Marx
May 18, 201115 yr From Robert just over a month ago: At this time, we are prohibited from discussing Microsoft Flight, the impact we feel it will have on the hobby-simmer, or whether or not we wish to support that platform in its currently planned format. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/331489-re-ngx-impending-release-are-we-there-yet/page__view__findpost__p__1956617

May 18, 201115 yr The problem with MS Flight is that no Addon-Developer has any information about it yet. So at the moment nobody can say if the NGX or any FSX product will work with little updates. That we know of... Hopefully, many of the quality addon developers such as PMDG for example, are under an NDA and just can't discuss it. Imagine if good add-on developers get to help with the SDK code requirements before and during develoment so they can push the envelope even further. That, coupled with a new display engine and matching max settings to the current hardware available at the time of release could be sweet nirvana. Here's wishful thinking. We'll see - until then, enjoy the NGX and what ever else PMDG releases before then.:( Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
May 18, 201115 yr Given that it will be an entirely new platform with a new engine and so on, my guess would be that it would be like trying to get the NGX to work in X-Plane. I doubt it would work unless there is a fair bit of commonality built-into the coding. If it is the intention of Microsoft to star fresh, then I'd be suprised if there is much commonality. But given that so little information has been released, all this is just conjecture and theory. We'll just have to wait and see. :( Matthew Bellette
May 18, 201115 yr just remeber what they did to FSX and its many faults before you consider MSFlight. Its just a new way for them to give us new bugs. May 19, 201115 yr Flight is not the same ACES team that made FSX...Yeah, but it will need to be out for about a year to really tell if it is going to have a lot of bugs. Also for the first couple of years, you will have to fly default aircraft because no third party developers will have anything ready for it. I believe I will stick with FSX, FS9 and X-Plane 10 for a few years, or until PMDG starts making aircraft for it.Bob Robert Yunque
May 19, 201115 yr Not sure you will be able to call "Flight" a sim in the same respects as FS9/FSX.From a marketing aspect and time in development , I'm sure they had liked more sales then FSX (I guess hat why ACES got the boot) brought as simulating is a niche market. And being a niche market I'm sure they will have to alter or sacrifice somewhere in order to make more appease for non hardcore simmers and get more sales.I'll willing to bet a dollar to donuts it needs Microsoft Live and that it's going to just smell of game rather then a sim.-Raven Harris -Raven HarrisIntel i7 980X @ 4.43GHz | ASUS Rampage III | Corsair 6GB DDR3 2000MHz | 3 EVGA GTX280 | Corsair 1200 Watt | Intel 510 SSD (RAID 0)PMDG - 747-400/8iF | MD11/F | BAe J41 | 737NG 6/7/8/9 Hope ER/BBJ|777LR/FFlight1- Cessna Mustang
May 19, 201115 yr Commercial Member They've already shot that rumor down officially on the Flight site and said that it is a sim in the same tradition as the previous ones... MSFS was already one of the best selling PC game franchises of all time - why do people act like it was some low seller? FSX was in the sales charts for several years, right there with first person shooter stuff. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
May 19, 201115 yr Phil Taylor confirmed that FSX was a million plus seller and that was quite a few years ago now, they have probably sold a boat load or 2 more since then too. Cheers, Andy.
