Any news from E3?

Ah, so you're saying, that most people can't achieve awesome visuals in FSX and that's why they tend to think the graphics aren't so great. I wasn't twisting your words either. Anyway, about the clothes and make-up, I'm betting that if you love flying as I do, in a few years your priorities will change from a high end wardrobe, to flight lessons, or maybe a new PC so you can suspend disbelief in the sim. At least that's what happened with me.
£1000 can hardly get me to the seat of a 747-8i can it? I was being realistic, if I had ~£80,000 lying around I doubt I would be on here talking about Simming, I'd be revising and other things to prepare for my flight training. And I never said that btw, also twisting words. *******, cant we have a nice discussion without it getting a little out of hand? You may be able to afford flight training, I cant atm. I really love flying, more than anything in the world, you cannot make judgements based on a 250 word reply on a forum, you do not know anything about me, so don't go there. I love my make-up and clothes, they might make me feel slightly better about myself. You may not understand that, maybe not all of us are up in the sky yet. I'm stuck on the ground with the rest of the world, with the rest of the mean people too. When I finally get up there, I know that maybe the only thing that separates me from the bullies is a cockpit door, but I will know that I would be much happier inside than them. Jamie ♥

Project FireBird, the future of flight simulation.

*btw, when using the term 'game' it is an umbrella term, it also includes simulation and racing games, and everything in-between. Do not twist my words.

"A video game is an electronic form of play that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device" - the definition of the word "videogame", game is the common shorthand for videogame. Just being clear.

? I have no idea what you're talking about.Anyway, all I was saying is that, I think FSX and Flight both look awesome especially with the addons we have now. Also, I was saying that, at least in the U.S. there are college loans which is what I'm using to get through school, if everyone had to shell out $40,000 out of their own pocket to get their ratings, hardly anyone would be a pilot.

yeah i hope you guys enjoy the great sim FSX in the year of 2011, oh you forgot it was released in the year of 2006 where the sleeping FSX team had no clue at all where hardware and software was going. My god its just fantastic that you guys can still talk about how great work they did. They screwed up so badly that it will be an epic comeback if they succed with Flight. The 5% hardcore fans will buy it on release date, but this time the 95% gamers wont pay for your precious sim.

You don't have a clue, do you? I guess the fact that FSX is the best seller of the series doesn't mean anything?

Yup, FSX was the best seller. OHN has just never been able to say anything good about Flight.Because FSX was not the best to some, does not automatically mean that Flight will be bad. It really bugs me that people are this way. That logic makes absolutely no sense.

Of course it makes sense. When you buy a game like, (lets say Call of Duty MW2), do you have to make sure your MW2 CFG is optimized for your system? NO!-- The average gamer uses FSX once. If it runs crappy(most systems) and has bad graphics, they uninstall it and never play it again.BUT, IMHO, FSX is an awesome engine/simulator. But, it just needs to be "dusted" and "rewritten" which is exactly what they are doing in Flight.BTW, I love the pictures and videos they have released so far! I definitely can tell you I will be one of the people there on the night of release to buy it!Best Regards,

yup me to cant wait for it to be released im not buying a new system until it has been released though so i definately know it can run on the hardware from then.

He has a very good point actually. Just because somebody buys a product does not mean it is a great game. What makes a game great (not just in sales figures) is longevity where the game is played over and over. That's why sales figures can never be a true barometer of a games success. Some of the people who bought FSX will have a long memory and maybe when they see Flight advertised they may well think "great, another top performing sim from MS, I gonna pass this time".It will serve MS right if FSX's legacy of poor performance come back to bite them in the &@($*.Bryan

How many MSFS titles have been released?  Dont think that one bad performer (your words) creates a legacy. Also,  people dont normally have long memories ...  some people forgot or forgive .... true for world events, political parties, and software, etc.   :(

Forget it...boring.Bryan.
Understandable they dont mention Flight a E3, the gamers that read news from E3 at major gaming sites like IGN still remember FSX as one of the worst games ever released. No one was able to run the game, not even them with alienware computers or other higend pc monsters. The forums at IGN was on fire with angry gamers getting no more than 5-10 fps, lets hope MS learnt a lesson and dont release such crap anymore.
Yeah sure, because E3 would be packed to the walls with product showcases if only developers that never had a poor performing game at release showed their wares... <sarcasm>And btw, vanilla FSX runs very fast and has since the i7's a couple years ago. All the complex aftermarket addons that drag down frames are not necessarily the original developers responsibility.

+1By increasing the conent load we can make a more authentic sim, but it's going to tax the system more. It's something I'd say FS users understand well...and manage with. But, I’d love to see an easy way to benchmark the add-ons I put in my sim.

This is a pretty twisted statistic though. If in 2002, instead of releasing FS2002, MS would have fired the development team and did not come out with a sim until 2006, then FS2000 might well be the best seller of the series. How many sales would FSX have if we had been able to buy FS11 in 2008??

FSX sold more copies in the first 2 years of release than any other FS version so your argument can be respectfully dismissed.

Only because there was nothing else to compete, not because it's a great product.Bryan.
