DANG! The nose shot is amazing. The pilots look real, (the FO is looking at the camera) and the nose is modeled and painted with exquisite detail! A.net wouldn't know the difference.Sorry for OT:I have heard great things about AOA. Their MD11 training looks really good. I'm VERY seriously considering getting it. My Q is: for $44, what do you get? I mean you get a membership to the training, but is it time limited? ie, 3 months, etc. Also, aside from the vids, do you get saved flights and other goodies? Thanks for your help, and again sorry for the OT.

AOA productions are very professional and well worth the money and I would under normal circumstances be the first to buy the one for the NGX. I already have the ones for the LDS767 and the PMDG 747. However I would only buy another one if there is another narrator. The narration on the others just grates. No offence - it is a quality production but the voice over ruins it for me!Gerry
While I'm fine with Chris' voice, what irrates me slightly is the 'Throttle On' statement at the end of every presentation, I know its their catchphrase but it gets on my nerves a bit! Otherwise an excellent training package (i have the MD11 one)

The $44 is for the training course, which gives you access to the videos and other downloads such as flight files, approach plates, etc pertaining to the course, its not time limited.Hope that helps!

The screenshot showing the pilot up close in the cockpit - one could be forgiven for thinking it was a real world picture.
Well I guess you have to forgive me because I almost took it as a real world picture He%20He.gif. That was a very nice shot!

Cool. As someone who already owns the course that I'm looking to buy, Would you consider it well worth it?Thanks!

TOTALLY! I bought the training last month and it's really great. The quality of the videos are amazing. There are 3 full flights with the MD-11, a short, a medium and a long haul, and other good amount of videos explaining procedures, such as VOR approaches, LOC approaches, how to perform an approach and land at Kai Tak, low-speed and high-speed take-off abort (two separate videos), engine failure after V1, fuel dump, taxi, visual approach and I think I'm forgeting something else... You also get AoA's livery, their checklist in PDF... The package comes with saved files for you to follow along the procedures, charts for the 3 flights and I still think I'm forgeting something. I advice anyone who ask me to buy it. Oh, and you'll laugh a lot with Chris saying 'Throttle on', especially in the end of the 3 full flights.

Tell you what. We'll arrange for AOA to have a special version just for you. Narrated by Gilbert Gottfried.

I agree with everything Barfra1995 said, its definatly worth it. I haven't started the flights yet, but have done the procedures which are very well explained, looking forwards to starting the flight sections.

Awww come on, he's not the only one. I, too, felt Chris' voice is just a tad too harsh (for my personal preference) to listen to for long periods of time. I think a professional narrator would really go a long way to add that golden touch to the series but I'm sure the cost would make it unprofitable. Regardless, pro voice talent or not, I'll still be buying their NGX series when it's released :(

Hello,For $44 there is NO time limit. You own the course, saved flights, other files like checklists, and a custom AoA livery. As a matter of fact, the beauty of having "online" videos (which you can download unto your harddrive if you want to) is that the courses are dynamic. Chris and his team are constantly adding to the course. If you just purchased a DVD, that would be the completed product. Nothing more could be added. With AoA's online courses, the product is never finished. It is continually growing.Angle of Attach Online is the best investment in learning a flight sim enthusiast can make.Any question that may come up, whether about the actual aircraft, flying on Vatsim, IFR or VFR procedures, or anything that might pop up in your mind about piloting or flight simulation can be asked there and will result in an authoritative and professional answer. So you not only have a comprehensive course, but you have a dynamic environment for learning.Bob
