Unfortunately FSX is not 3D-compatible. It runs ok in daylight - but all HALO's aren't viewed in 3D which makes the experience quite bad in night views. But daylight looks amazing. Hope Flight will solve this.

I'm running FSX on a 30" 2560x1600. http://www.amazon.co...duct/B003RBNMJA I believe that's the largest you can get (resolution wise) within a reasonable price range, without going the double/triple-head to go. Yes, expensive, but the point is the native resolution. There is a common misconception that the larger the monitor/display, the larger the screen real estate. Even if you fly FSX on a 55" LCD TV, it's still in 1080p.

Since I have a 120 hz monitor (not running in 3D mode) I have the smooth FSX experience I always dreamt of :-) 3D is also pretty nice (besides the lights) but the Vsync-stutters are back...not smooth....

Nobody with a simple 4:3 and 2048x1024 ?? I own one because at the Pc I dont like this TV monitors :D

Kind regards from Germany :)

Thanks for everyone's replies, much appreciated. I see one or two comments regarding 3D mode. Maybe too late to get any further responses from you all, but it would be great to know if you were using 3D. I assume to use 3D you get the NV kit with the s/w and glasses?? Thanks again, this has been helpful. And congratulations to PMDG for getting the new sub-forum up, another milestone! Bruce Knight.

Whats the diff between a monitor and a tv?
An HDTV will have more input lag (more moticable on first person shooters or fast paced games) and a less-than-ideal picture due to the pixel size (higher dot-pitch). It will also more than likely not have a DVI port. After having tested FSX with PC panels ranging from 23" to 30" and HDTVs from 32" to 52", I would say that the 30" looks the best picture wise (for obvious reasons), but the 23" is definitely sharp as well due to the smaller size and 1920x1080 resolution. The best part of the 30" panels is (as far as I know) they all use IPS displays which present MUCH better viewing angles and color represetation. You definitely pay for the price of admission, but if you are really into accurate color, solid performance, and a fantastic picture than an IPS display is really the only way to go.

Although i can not speak from experience i have ordered 3 x 24inch 1920x1080 and will be running them as one big 5760x1080 (eyefinity) screen From my research i truly believe this is a beautifull way to experience the VC of the 737NGx (or any other plane) Fred Koch

Hi, I am using HANNS:G HDMI25" for cockpit view and their 28" for outside views, both widescreen. Super displays. richard welsh.

Bruce, like I said 3D is really cool, but kind of works just in daylight flights, the lights are all missplaced and its very annoying to fly in the night. Then, I have found heaven of smoothness with normal 2D and 120hz with Vsync enabled, so the real reason for me is the 120hz refresh rate and not the 3D.You will see the diffrence the first moment you use a 120hz monitor just on the desktop, everything feels much smoother :-)
