Vr - "rotate"

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have noticed that the co-pilot does not call "rotate" at Vr.So I checked the FMC and the option I found was V1 call out (which is set to on) Is Vr no longer called out anymore ?I did notice that Vr and V1 are often very close together making calling both of them difficult Or is it boeing CRM policy that does not call for Vr anymore...hhmm..or am I missing something here ?

As far as im aware that at present it is only V1 that is heard. I believe the other call outs were left out for other developers to include such as "FS2CREW" ..

They've left it out!Hypnotized.gif I'm guessing they want us to buy FS2Crew. Can't really see any other reason for omitting 1st officer callouts all of a sudden. I'd hoped they could include the callouts and perhaps add an FMC option to disable them, that'd be the more logical thing since you've already seen the FMC screen where you can disable the V1 callout. But I guess it doesn't make sense from a business point of view I guess? To me it sort of smells funny, because the entire rest of the plane is so fantastic.

I miss that too. It seems a little odd to include V1 and not Rotate or Gear Up. Not all of us will be getting a third party package. Having the option in the FMC to turn on and off default sounds would be better. Looks like a freeware solution will have to be added instead. My first and hopefully only gripe with the NGX, thankfully its a small one.

What you hear is not the copilot but an aural alert generated by a system on the plane itself (the terrain alerting system I believe). There are no copilot callouts included with the NGX

That sounds dodgy. I think you're wrong. Very very wrong indeed. Why would the terrain system call V speeds, when they are speed markers?Ash Frew.

FS2Crew is a great way to spend your money if you enjoy realism.Since you bought the NGX, it seems you do.

I can assure you it is most certainly selected on in the options regardless if you can't see what else it could be.Anyone else with any sensible suggestions?Any comments from PMDG?RegardsTim

I think that us all agreeing on some absolute definition of realism in a simmer environment is very unlikely. For me, being bound to a static computer copilot isn't realistic but I know a lot of people enjoy it. Talking to my computer is sort of where I draw the line, although talking to ATC on VATSIM is OK and adds a lot of realism for me. Another example of different simming preferences is that I wouldn't dream of using AI traffic either, but I know a lot of people do. For me, however, online traffic is the only thing that feels right. To each his own I guess, but I really don't care for PMDG insisting on me buying FS2Crew by removing their own callouts(I'll call it "removing" since they've had it in their products up until now). And I'm very curious as to why the sudden change?...
