Which is the best FPS limiter?

Featured Replies

I use FPS Limiter, but I've also seen references to one called antilag, and others have said ENBseries plug in can be used as an fps limiter. Are there any others? Which is best?

I never seen any referene to enb being capable of controlling fps though you should note that enb and antilag cannot be used at the same time as they both require their own D3D9.dll be installed in FSX's root folder Chris Ibbotson

Antilag does a better job of maintaining target FPS and is easier to use, but the process for making it work with ENB Series is slightly more involved.

DX10?? Why would you use that? Nothing works right with that. Regarding the ENB, I don't use it. Someone thought it could limit FPS due to a config setting they saw, but I don't think that is correct. I'll look up the anti lag and see if I get better results. Thank you for the replies.

I don't use antilag because I always get a black screen when switching between windowed and fullscreen mode.Sadly the author doesn't work on an updated version to eliminate this.

I get about 20-30% better frames with DX10 enabled, that is why.

Hey, Zach. I have switched to the Antilag limiter because for me it works better than the FPS Limiter 2.0 but would like to start using ENB. Would you happen to know what that process is? I know it can be done because Ryan for one uses both.Regards,

Rick Hobbs

Even PMDG recommends leaving it off, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks Zach! I've been looking for this. I have ENB and Antilag running together on my system now.

I'm glad it helped! Just doing my job passing along the knowledge from smarter enthusiast than myself.
