it would be nice if someone from PMDG could comment on this topic.

see dates of said posts, and the incorrect reason given for why it happens.

I have had 10 files with "normal" names like described above at least since Mendoza made his original post, but never any with "strange" names. Always had the Trike in my default FSX flight, never the NGX. Pretty poor form to drop files in the Windows directory, if you ask me - although they don't seem to do any harm Loser.gif

It's always a little alarming when an application starts writting its files, at random, to the windows directory.(or any other unexpected directory) Hopefully, when the issue is corrected, PMDG will give a list of the filenames that could have got written there by PMDG, so those who want to, can remove them from cluttering up their windows diretory, WITHOUT the risk of deleting IMPORTANT, non PMDG files.

Same here, several files:43 4CE3 8F2B 6D9F 2E04 F34F96 05A5 0BC0 96E1 3DC4 28EBA9 BB73 8D43 ACB5 F177 DF4F FA68 04AD AAC3 6496 3D59 BF8C E94C 4A44 6A76 BBB3 3212 B777 BF11 E347 837A 8E90CDU.0CDU.1Roll ErrorPitch ErrorGyro SpeedRoll TargetPitch TargetMode2BTimerMode2_AltGain_timerMode2ATimer Never saved a flight with the NGX as default, nor did I install any Hotfix so far. EDIT: Just an idea: could it happen because the Autosave-Function In FSUIPC is activated?

Hi I have the same with Win 7 64 bit. Guys, no need to keep reporting this - it's fixed and you wont see it after hotfix4. (should be out soon)

In my case, also W7 64 bits and running as administrator. Jos Denis

So has the SP1:
"We are planning a very large update to be released on 23SEP11. (DATE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)"
date been delayed, and now the next update will be a HOTFIX #4 at some "soon" date ?

Tell you what. Why don't we all wait until 23rd of September, until about 5pm RENO time, and then complain about what's been delayed, and what's not. I for one can't wait for SP1 (or even a hotfix for that matter), but I'll be patient.

Now that SP1 is out, I realize that there are still some strange files residing in my Windows root folder. Could someone from PMDG now please explain, what files can be removed, since I feel uncomfortable with not necessary files in the sensible Windows root folder.RegardsRalf Stock
