I am on descent with the NGX as we speak. I have been waiting for this airport for a while becuase I also like to fly cargo but it will also be good for all those West coast trips I love to take.

CoolP: I don't think so, since Avsim already has a review on UTX Alaska: http://www.avsim.com...ght1/Alaska.htm
Oops, I didn't see that I must admit. It's actually a great review, even explaining and testing the various options. Nice tip. Anchorage performs in the region of the Munich or Barcelona (which is Sim-Wings too) airport here, so really good while you'll see a big spot in great detail on your screen. Only the RAM usage seems to be a bit higher, maybe because of the extra hires textures used. For the use with UTX Alaska, maybe one should bring the Anchorage area one step down though, at least that's what I did.

This airport really likes to set OOM error, jeez. I keep turning down settings bit at a time but OOM keeps creeping in if I sit at the gate or runway too long.

Too bad one can't set LOD Radius low for airport areas then have it automatically increase away from airports.

That's odd, I don't have any problems with OOMs and that scenery at quite high settings. But I'm sure the advice to "TYSD" will be here seen, so I wanted to be faster  , since you already stated that you do reduce your settings.

Hope you don't lose your interest in this scenery due to that.

When you say 'high settings', I assume you have some of the proprietary airport settings turned down.  Not specifically towards Flo, which settings are you finding to help frame rates the most? This airport is very hard on frames, even with FSX AI completely off.

This airport looks amazing with FTX South Alaska and so far no OOM errors with a defaul 4.5 LOD and 2048 textures.

I posted pics in the FTX forum.

i have some heavy stutters (or more like small pauses) every few seconds with this.. but it seems like it happens only near the ground.

it gets worse when crossing taxiway intersections and arround aprons...oddly, framerates are pretty good (dx10 preview mode)

so far i tired it with orbx sak on and off, tried running it with the photoreal terrain off, tried the 512 replacement textures, turned utx off - still no improvements

has anyone experienced the same?

thanks
