Water masking broken?
I think it got broken somewhere. With addons like orbx pnw pfj or alaska and the tongass addon that come with custom waterclass the ocean boundaries are now sharp lines and squares/tiles instead of soft blendings. I tried unistalling reinstalling the addon areas to no avail. I returned Texture replacements like rex and hifi to the initial backups but it did not help. Also dx10 on/off did nothing. What could be the files responsible for this? Any ideas? Thank you!!

Slew operation
you can do a test to see if its a joystick problem: before going to slew mode hit ctrl+k (disables all control-inputs) see if it goes away you can than slew around with the arrow keys

I Loathe FSDT's COUATL!
this is pure assumption, for example: i´m the guy that almost never posts and rather quietly sits in the back of the bus i too had countless quoatl-quirks and i believe there are many others like me..

Darker nights- no solution yet.
i have to agree. i never was satisfied with how night-textures looked and could not get my cheapo-samsung monitor to display true black at night i have a eizoo monitor now and out of the box beautiful dark night. now i can´t even find the light switches in a cold and dark flightdeck-setup lol

Lights issue
as far as i remember there is no fix yet for ftx 3d-lightpoles, but this will soon change with the new 3d-lights for ftx-global (don´t know if it will work with the regions products though)

got the shadow-aa working finally !!!! after some extensive serarching the avsim-forums i found this: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/384378-hq-antialiasing-for-nvidia-cards/page-2#entry2465992 the dx10 bioshock flag did the trick! many many thanks to VeryBumpy :Applause:

i observed the same looks in the menu , have 8xS 2xSS set in inspector. the sim itself looks good thou..

found it! ..had the internal aa on trilinear. after switching to aniso, blurries went away phew! case closed :ph34r:

hello all, i gave p3d yesterday a try, and of couse (as always) - there are problems.. please take a look at the pic - should it look like this? lod-setting is 6.5 (p3d with the bojote automatic-cfg ) its the same with a clean cfg nvidia-inspector settings are: 8xSQ 2x SS limiter set to 30 any ideas? thank you!!!

once you reach the iaf fix for the star you would switch to the approach-plate for rw8r and go from there

Amazing.
maybe worth mentioning: the data for laser-readout is located near the top of the disc-surface ( the side where the print is) - therefore scratches on the silver/ blank side are not soo critical..

Trouble Slewing
delta: try to turn off joystick or yoke in the settings. check if you can slew with the arrow keys on your keyboard i am having the same issues and found the joystick to be the cause for this..

Anchorage X (Alaska) (FSX) Released!
i have some heavy stutters (or more like small pauses) every few seconds with this.. but it seems like it happens only near the ground. it gets worse when crossing taxiway intersections and arround aprons...oddly, framerates are pretty good (dx10 preview mode) so far i tired it with orbx sak on and off, tried running it with the photoreal terrain off, tried the 512 replacement textures, turned utx off - still no improvements has anyone experienced the same? thanks

hi, will this work with dx10? do ezdock cams work? thanks regarding the sound problems... i don´t see what a 7.1 setup in windows has to do with it.. most users would utilize a 2.0 setup anyway (maybe 2.1 with subwoofer added)

i noticed a slight reduction in visuals with fxaa so i turned it off again.. did a test from lax to vancouver.. smooth like butter and almost constant 30 fps - stunning!!!

hi paul, thanks for the shaders - i tried them but still no improvement. i believe it installed properly becouse the new shaders are fine with dx10..hmm btw. the preview screen, where one selects aircraft and flights, has no aa either - i wonder if this is common in dx10? (does not bother me at all) im in no hurry with installing fsx over, will turn shadows off for now. maybe you (or somebody else) happen to remember the "mysterious fix somewhere" would be great! thanks again for helping!

hi, tried the cfg together with the profile - problem still remains.. :mellow: i am really out of ideas right now.. i changed the bp to 0 and this works great with dx10!!! in dx9 i had a lot of spikes and glitches with bp 0 the ni setting with 58 fps vsync seems to work too - thank you for the hint! btw. this is a really old installation with lots of installs / uninstalls / customized stuff. i therefore unistalled most of the addons exept some essentials before i tried dx10 maybe its time for a fresh install of fsx anyway?

Hi Paul J, thank you for your great reply - must admit, not too creative my username.. :lol: tired your inspector profile but unfortunately things didn´t change.. see picture ( it looks much worse when moving around in the sim) i have updated my profile with my system specs nvidia driver version is 314.22 my cfg: thanks again for trying to help andy hmm somehow the pic didn´t show up...

hi guys, first post here... switching to dx10, everything works great so far except there is no antialiasing for aircraft shadows when viewing from the outside...is this normal in dx10? or did i miss a step somewhere? (i have executed all steps of the "How to" doc) thank you
