Saw it! Looks great I must say. Still, I'm not sure I'm going to buy it. It's a terribly remote location. Flights from this place to other parts of the US will take hours... Pity, because it's a huge cargo hub.

Finally A long over looked airport. I love flying in and out of that area.

It does make a nice combo with Dutch Harbor (also Aerosoft).Just bought the PANC scenery and downloading. It's a whopping 2.3GB. A record I believe for an airport scenery.

Guys, how are the frames in comparison to KSFO from flightbeam studios?

It looks really good. When you consider the size if the download, a DVD release might not be a bad idea.

Would also be interested in FPS performance. I bought UT Alaska and found the frames (in this area of the FSX world that is normally very FPS-friendly) horrendous! So would be interested in how this performs, as agree, it's a nice due with Dutch Harbour.

I am sure all of the cargo fans will be buying this one. Since I gave up my membership in UPS VA, I have not been to PANC very much. Mark.

Yep, that's the only reason I wont be buying it, at least not for a while. If I was into flying cargo routes I would probably jump on it, but it's a bit far for my normal NGX flights.Plus it looks like FSDT KLAX might drop in the next few days according to Umberto's last post on their forum. I need to start sticking to buying sceneries that I know I will use on a regular basis rather than just once in a while.

Scenery looks pretty good, fps are okay. But stutters are heavy on my side (every 3-4 sec) even with moderate settings. Harry

With the initial installation of UTX Alaska I had low fps too but their tools are great and you can fine tune the area within seconds then, removing some detail. That brought back the close to default fps here.Look for the button improve performance by tweaking individual scenery areas (advanced) in the setup tool and then tweak your Anchorage there. Now with Anchorage from Aerosoft it stays quite good on the frames. I've just tested the C337, which surely is a light fps bird, but I'm pleased with the detail and frames so far. Looking to the terminal side surely brings you down a bit, but I have my locked 30s most of the time there when flying around the airport.

No stutters here so far, but a suggestion. The thing comes with the moving cars across the place, so it depends on the Vistamare installation of yours. I don't know if this gets updated with every installation, but you may check if you have some current modules there. There should be a Vistamare folder in your FSX root with some dlls awaiting a closer look. Any modules from August 2011 should be current, older ones may need an update. The manual also helps a bit on the recommended FSX settings. They have hires ground textures there for example.

I have started flying more and more cargo flights, purely because that's what the MD-11 is used for the most. However, I don't really want to do flights longer than two hours. PANC is simply too far away. And I heard you about buying stuff you know you'll use. I think twice now about whether or not to buy a scenery. The most important considerations are how close it is to my other add-on airports and if there are any airlines out there that interest me. KLAX will therefor be a must buy. With KLAS, KSFO, MMSD, KPHX (whenever it's released) so close by, there's ample places to fly to and from.

Why not use time compression then? Works pretty good with the MD-11, up to 8x. So you can do much longer flights, especially when they only show hours of blue water in between the nice destinations. PANC seems to eat a lot of memory here. At least with the C377 HD I get some 2.6gb RAM usage (fsx.exe only).

With UTX Alaska vector autogen disabled (I'm using the "AlaskaUTX" preset) I'm getting 20-25fps in the NGX vc with all systems running and UTII commercial traffic at 100%. System is an i7 930 @ 3.85ghz, 6gb, HD5870hd 1gb
