Its not that bad Dillon, happy.png some people don't mind and enjoy the exterior model while they wait for the whole package.

Don't mean to be rude CS, but if you aliased the sound to the 737-800 there's a problem. The classic 737 engines sound nothing like today's CFM engines. You might as well have aliased the sound of the DC-3. It's about that similar. I agree with Dillon. Finish the package and then release it.OMG, the lav panels open. Who's going to be the first one to spill virtual blue juice all over themselves?LOL.gif

I'm going to be honest and agree. I purchased the BUFF exterior model from them and then the full model when it came out, receiving a discount for my prior purchase. However, I dislike the practice as it does seem to be a money grabbing exercise when coupled with the very poor support received once purchased coupled with the large amount of bugs. I'm usually a supporter of payware developers and in fact am more tolerant of them than of developers of other software I purchase, as I realize it isn't really a job that can sustain yourself and a family, but in this case I guess this will have to be my first real whine about an FS developer in 2 decades of virtual flying. The likes of IRIS, REX, FSCaptain and other smaller developers do an outstanding job of juggling support with supreme development skills and CS could learn a lot from their example.

If it was any other aeroplane I'd probably have waited, but since I really like the 737, I coughed up for it, although frankly, there are actually already some Original 737 exterior models you can have in FSX, including the Aerosim one if you port it over, which does have a VC, so it was more about encouraging Captain Sim to get on with finishing it than for any great need for a Classic 737 exterior for FSX. Still, it is undeniably a pretty spiffy model and it might even make me park up the PMDG 737 for a millisecond: CS737.jpg Al

I like that pic Al... LOL.gifThe ext model is just FABULOUS as usual from CS.

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

That exterior model really is beautiful. If it weren't an exterior model only, I'd have bought it in a heart beat. And now with Anchorage released, I can't wait for a 200 variant coming out. NAC flies in and out of that place with a small fleet of Boeing 737-200 aircraft.

Those Captainsim boys sure do know how to build a good looking aeroplane. I cannot wait for the full package. I love their products. Classic beauties.

Why couldn't they have just done the 200 as that was built in far greater numbers, now you have to buy the little used 100 to get to the 200 or will it be separate?

If the T7 is anything to go by, there'll be a pretty long wait though.................................................................Whistle.gif

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a case of the 100 series being the base package, and then the 200 and freight versions being additional ones. Like yourself, I think I'd have preferred it if they'd just knocked out a 200ADV variant, since that is the revised model that actually made the 737 such a success story, but you can understand them doing it the way they have if you look at it from a business point of view sat in their shoes. Be interesting to see if we get a 200 and a 200 ADV, as I would quite like to see both. I'm also sure the 737 will get done a lot quicker than their Triple Seven, after all, they can pretty much rip bits out of their 707 and 727 as far as avionics and other parts are concerned and the cockpit shell on the 737 is the same as the 707, so the VC is in large part already built and more a case of gluing bits together as opposed to creating stuff completely from scratch. The autopilot is essentially the same as the one in the 727, and there aren't really any other fancy things on an Original 737 which set it apart from its siblings, since it was designed to be a simple aeroplane that could be operated by a crew of two right from the drawing board (though it usually had three crew owing to pilot's union problems in the US). Even the engines are a common item, so the gauges are more or less good to go, as will be the engine sounds and all the cockpit switch sounds as well. I'd reckon on a matter of weeks if they get their finger out, because all of those systems will have already been beta tested in previous products which share commonality. Probably why they decided to make the Original 737 in fact, as it will have been a comparatively simple task in terms of development compared to doing a Cripple Seven. What we really need now is a completely FSX-native Classic 737, so that we can make an upgraded 200 ADV with a revised glass cockpit by doing a merge. Given that CS will be kind of halfway there on that as well, they might even consider that too. Al

I hope you're right Al. I'd never have bought the T7 exterier had I known it would take this long. For a change, I'll definately hold off 'till there's a 200 and VC. PS Welcome back - you've been missed my friend.

What a beauty again and nice shot Alan. Now lets hope that the full version progresses somehow fast since I sort of need all those nice steam gauges to really feel at home. If they come in the 707-like tech and detail, this one will be a winner for me.

Thank you Phil. With regard to the Triple Seven, I always kind of figured on that taking a while, but having the Aerosim T7's VC to shove in the thing kind of swung that one for me. I'm normally a bit leery on buying half a product, we all know how long it took to get Alphasim's big cargo jet in complete form, even the company went bump during the wait for that one, which just goes to show that a cash grab from selling half a plane is no guarantee of commercial stability!
