September 11, 201114 yr I would love PMDG to make the 717. Itwould have to be one of my favorite aircraft. I've always said to myself, if I'm ever rich ennough to buy my own private airliner, I'm buying a 717. Lol.Niall, you are a lucky bugger. And it's great that Ronans so accommodating. Ronan, if I ever end up on one of your flights (highly unlikely) I want a jumpseat ride too. ;D
September 11, 201114 yr Lucky you'd be able ride in the JS of the A330! Here in the US, without the CASS system, it's a BIG NO NO! Heck, I can't even ride in the cockpit of a US Based carrier, on international flights!!! Have an amazing time! The A330 cockpit is amazing and oh so comfortable! I first rode in one of Hawaiian's BRAND NEW A332's PHNL-KLAS :). On topic, the 717 is a great bird! Ridden on them tons of times when I was out in Hawaii! Personally, I think a good Airbus sim would be welcomed. (Aerosoft Airbus is good and all, but the fact it "doesn't work" with joysticks is a bother to me, and I have a $60 piece of software I can't even use! Asking for support, they were like "sorry, we can't help, we've never seen that issue".) Image Coming... KregE | B757/767 FO
September 12, 201114 yr I was in the cockpit from about over the North Sea to landing at EDDL on 30th August 1997.I was flying to my friends wedding, but I recon I got the better deal :)Probably out of the question since 9/11. Couldn't you just fly the MD-11 and pretend it was the 717? Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry. X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020 🙂 System specs: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM 1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12, 1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020
September 12, 201114 yr who wants to enjoy their NGX so they dont have to spend time on avsim to wait for the new plane, ME! Joe Barton
September 12, 201114 yr Couldn't you just fly the MD-11 and pretend it was the 717? I must admit I didn't expect that one ! Rgds (and thanks for the advise), Bruno
September 12, 201114 yr Devinci "Sagga" is working on a 717. It should be completed sometime after his KSAN X payware scenery is released. 717 Topic with in development pictures: http://devinci.invis...-b717-3d-model/ Devinci Design & Development homepage: 3-dev.comWelcome back Ethan!

September 12, 201114 yr I don't think Southwest will use Airtran's 717's They are old and already Airtran has been selling and getting rid of them, plus Airtran has a lot of nice 737's. But I still would really like a NICE 717 but I don't think that is PMDG's type, I think our best bet is to wait a little and see what Captainsim does! But still a PMDG 717 would be amazing with their wear and tear on them and the older cockpits!
September 13, 201114 yr Got an email back from EIN . They got my forms in the post this morning, all good to go and all I have to wait for now is my Garda Vetting, which should come back as clear anyway as I've no criminal record . Jump seat here I come. Next month can't come soon enough, I think I'm looking forward more to the flight over than I am about the actual roller coasters.
September 23, 201114 yr I want a PMDG 717! AirTran has not been selling and getting rid of their 717s, they've been adding to their 717 fleet, picked up 2 this year. Just a fact check.
September 23, 201114 yr Commercial Member Not a fan of the 717. I'd like to see a nice 787 or A350, with them being part of the future but there is likely too little information out on them both yet, so wishful thinking. Niall-congrats mate. Back in the 80s and 90s I managed quite a few trips to the flight deck before and it inspired me to become one when I was old enough. 9/11 changed everything of course and I hate to think that the kids these days are missing some of the most spectacular things they'll ever see--the sight of land after 6 hours of ocean is certainly one of them in real life (it's just not the same as SLF). Too bad the A350 doesn't exist yet!!! Anyways, I am anticipating the updated 747 and of coruse the all-new 777 the most, since Delta's 787s don't get here till 2020, I can wait. Maybe PMDG will do a 757, that would be heaven. Inactive

Absolutely, we're at least 2 years away from them coming into service but I feel the market is flooded with all popular western airliners, so I'd hate to see yet another 767 or A320 being made.
