In life, if you learn to execute by the "numbers", you will go much further.
What do you mean? I was talking about my assignment.

You said this, "So you're pretty much going off route, unless they follow your route?"That is why I said this, "In life, if you learn to execute by the numbers, you will go much further." What I really meant was that you should learn what it is you are expected to know.

Alex Cadle

So you're pretty much going off route, unless they follow your route?
Any time you're flying the ngx from one airport to another, 99.9% of those flights will be ifr, so atc is already following/tracking you. a route is nothing more than a series of waypoints, be they vor's, intersections or lat/long coordinates. The only difference in using lnav in a 737 versus flying vor to vor in a cessna is that you've entered those waypoints into the fmc & it follows them for you. As you near an airport atc will likely want you to leave your pre-programmed route at some point & follow their instructions. The only real difference is that your being instructed by atc instead of a basic clearance to follow a route you chose.

Again, you're asking many questions that will be hard for you to understand until you actually study and learn how the procedure/system works - I would hold off the questions about vectoring and such.. and just focus on the technical aspect of flying the NGX using FMC and etc.

This is why you HAVE to do the tutorial(s). There are proceedures for everything. If you are thinking of becoming a pilot, you'll have to decide to "LEARN" the system(s) : both theoretical and practical. When someone here tells you to go do a tutorial, go do it: if you get tired or bored, put it down, load up the aeroplane in FSX, firewall the throttles to let off some steam and, when you run off the end of the runway,REMEMBER, You have to learn and you have to learn correctly: the right way.smile.png
+1I am all for the community aspect of the forum. That's what drew me here in the first place. And, I love to see new simmers being turned away from the default junk FSX provides for aircraft. However, there comes a point when you have to say enough is enough. These questions will go on forever. I'm waiting for, "How do I land?". But that's not really the point, we learn by asking questions. But we really should wise up and direct the OP to resources that will teach him how to fly. I suggested some manuals earlier on. But the longer he's being spoon fed, the longer he won't see the need to put in the time required to really learn this stuff. Give a man fish, and he eats for a day. You know the rest.

Is that... give a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a night, set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life? Al

That sounds about right.

Sorry to bring the topic back to life, but I forgot to say, my FPS. I meet the requirements on the PMDG page, but I still get around 13~15FPS MAX. I tried lowering the graphical settings, using Bejote's tweak, etc. I also play usually (when not on VATSIM) with Clear Skies weather, and during the day. It is still impossible why I keep getting those FPS. It gets even worse when I try to put just a little bit of rain. It drops to like 8FPS. I like to play in the rain, or during heavy winds for the fast moving speed changes! haha. I'm contacting PMDG to see what they say.

Definitely submit a ticket, if you're having issues. Also take a look around this forum. There is an enormous amount of info here from users who have had (and in most cases, tackled) similar problems.

I dont know if anyone but a link to this yet but VATSIM has some nice VFR, IFR, and basic lessons.http://www.vatsim.net/prc/

If it is not IFR conditions it is not fun.

Mob mentality is in full effect, I see. If you don't like what linux has to say or you aren't willing to help him just ignore him, but stop picking on him like some high school bullies. Pathetic...

Diego, Nothing about being mature. People are trying to help you but you refuse to be helped. Trust me, the FMC is easy to use. Once you get the hang of it you will not want to go back to GPS. Trust me, read the tutorial flight, and don't make excuses, and actually learn how it works. You will be surprised how much more powerful it is than the default GPS. Also, you said something earlier on that you dont want to do a 2-3 hour flight, but trust me, that is not long at all.

I never refused anyone's help. I just said I didn't have time for it.

I started it today, but I didn't finish since I had to do something else. I do now have a better understanding of SIDS and STARs.
