October 24, 201114 yr Treeline depends on how far North you are, gets lower further North. Here in southern Norway it is 900-1200m, up north it is 0m..Also there is less trees as you get closer to the coast Morten Melhuus
October 24, 201114 yr I think, this discussion is moot ... So I just repeat: X-Plane 10 will have forests on mountains. And our scenery tools know about landuse (where forests are geographically), and about climate ... so, forests should be where you would expect them (as far as our data is correct - which it mostly is)! Andras Fabian / Alpilotx Visit www.alpilotx.net, a site about X-plane scenery You can see some landscape and other photographs from me here: http://www.flickr.co...s/weathermaker/
October 24, 201114 yr Can't wait for X-Plane 10 to hit the shelves!Just hope they continue to develop scenery creation tools for non programmers and move that legobrick concept further. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
October 24, 201114 yr And I still prefer FSX by a wee bit.... :)L.AdamsonLol have the same feeling ;-)But curious how this one 10 will turn out :-)from a xplane ###### .. you say ###### like its something bad.Lol those quotes "FSX ######" comes always from the most narrow minded people...I prefer to look it from another angle more objective actually don't care the name of the software but just see what it does ;-)Cheers, André

October 24, 201114 yr ....But we still haven't seen any big iron yet for X Plane that comes close to even the stuff that FS9 had 6 years ago (LDS 767, PMDG etc) and I won't be making the leap until there is. Fingers crossed eh?I know this is an old thread from X-pilot.com and this 777 is still in development but have you seen this? It looks very promising.http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/549-777-200er/page__st__120And their website here:http://www.xpjets.com/gallery/777-3d-cockpit/If you get the chance check out the engine spool up videos on the first link. They look very smooth. With the 737 Classic, Goran's 747 and XPjets 777 I think things are really coming alive for X-plane and I agree with some people here there is nothing wrong with liking both platforms. It's great to see FSX and X-plane development flourishing it's what keeps our niche market going.CheersRhydian
October 24, 201114 yr Lol have the same feeling ;-)But curious how this one 10 will turn out :-)You should have been curious how 9 turned out, as a developer, you missed the boat. Catch the next train maybe? I've just reinstalled this sim after a new computer build and I have to say, I also missed the boat.

October 25, 201114 yr It's the narrow minded people that take the term "######" as an insult.Sorry Goran I see it more as people with different taste as in real life ;-) I don't think in those terms of ###### ...Just fellow aviation enthusiast with different opinions and taste and I have respect for that also for you're opinion only I think different here ;)Nice renders you got there by the way in a few topics floating around here ;-)Cheers, André
October 25, 201114 yr It's the narrow minded people that take the term "######" as an insult.I've always taken ###### as a negative term-the implication being that one is so taken by brand loyalty that one is irrational.Fact is I am a "######" of all flight sims that have ever been made. I have bought them all and supported them all. With that in mind at any point in time there is one that for me recreates the flight experience (and I only care about GA) the best-and much of that time (the 1990 decade) it wasn't the fs series.I hope the best for xplane 10-and if it is I won't hesitate for a second to switch. Ignorance can also play a very large part.I have seen a multitude of people criticize x plane without ever having put in the time to get to know it. A 10 minute demo is hardly enough time. And that's only from the people who are willing to "have a look". For every one of those people, there are at least 20 people who have never touched it and form an opinion solely based on a few screenshots that someone posted. To me, THAT is narrow minded.
