November 1, 201114 yr Additional thanks and praise to PDMG staff for a wonderful Service Pack 1! GREAT job and many many improvements/refinements. Much appreciation and many thanks.I have a silly question: when you install a Livery do you automatically give up the HUGS display (perhaps because that 'airline' the livery is for doesn't use HUGS on it's 737ngx planes)?I added a United Livery (this was during Hotfix 4) and the HUGS was not present on that specific aircraft. If the answer is 'sometimes we omit the HUGS' what liveries in the 737-800 series offer HUGS over and above the "House" liveries?Robert McDonaldLook on the FMC under PMDG Setup. There should be an option to force the plane to have the HUD (even if whatever the company is doesn't have it in real life). i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
November 1, 201114 yr Regarding the new touchdown sound: I do not hear it on landing, all I get is a very low and brief noise of a tire hitting the runway. The nice wav file is in the sound directory, if I click on it I can hear it... But what should I do to hear it on landing ?Cheers Luc Voeltzel LSGG

Touchdown sound is dynamic, it depends on your touchdown rate of descend. So, maybe you just do perfect smooth landings and that's why you don't hear any/loud sound.... ;) Regards, Chris Volle i7700k @ 4,7, 32gb ram, Win10, MSI GTX1070.
November 1, 201114 yr Thank you Chris ! but you are too kind... my landings are not that perfect and NO sound unfortunately Luc Voeltzel LSGG
November 1, 201114 yr Glad you like 'em!The touchdown sound isn't just a sound that plays the same on every landing - Robert coded it so that the volume of the sound is proportional to the vertical speed on impact - the harder the landing the louder the sound! Wel done!Bert Van Bulck

November 1, 201114 yr The only missing sound is that of the speedbrake being deployed on touchdown. Where's the "eeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkk" screech of the motor?Regards,Paul Wood Paul Wood

November 1, 201114 yr Hey, do you noticed that the cold N dark was changed a little bit to? the probe heat are not automatic on the engine bleeds are on also the apu, and so on...? Daniel choen
November 1, 201114 yr Its there too, would you like me to make a quick video? That's a very kind offer. For now I think I'll take your word for it and attempt to adjust my sounds. I have them set up as per introduction instructions but I just don't hear the motor on my end.Regards,Paul Wood Paul Wood

November 1, 201114 yr if any one interested I have a real touchdown sound of a 738 I edited to match the NGX requirement and volume.I posted it here few days ago and I can't seem to find that post any more.those who were quick enough to grab it PMed me that it Sounds awesome and so real (I worked really hard on this, well not that hard).for me personal the PMDG touchdown sound's more like a newspaper printing machine then touchdown shaking (I heard many 738 touchdown sounds from the cockpit), that is why I used the real 737NG recording I have.if you like you could grab a copy of it at the following Link:http://www.multiupload.com/YW9RGFXSBMin the ZIP file there are 3 WAV files1. PMDG_737_Touchdown.org - this is the PMDG Original sound file (for Backup)2. PMDG_737_Touchdown.wav - the Original touchdown at the cockpit with out the pilot chair cranking (I removed that part)3. PMDG_737_Touchdown2.wav - the Original touchdown at the cockpit with the pilot chair cranking as of the NG shakingyou Pick which one suits you the best.NOTE: if you play the files in Media player it would sound very loud and that is how it should be as I tweaked the Amplifier of the sound to match the 50%Sound settings recommended by PMDG.in the SIM it would sound just as it should and the sound changes (the sound density and volume) based on how smooth or harsh you touchdown. How to Install:Just copy either PMDG_737_Touchdown.wav or PMDG_737_Touchdown2.wav, which ever one you like to:Microsoft Flight Simulator XSoundPMDG737NGXVarious overwriting the existing file (don't forget to back up the Original file 1st)That's it. your set.If you ever want to revert back to the old/original sounds, use the Backup file you saved earlier or use "PMDG_737_Touchdown.org" I added to the zip file by renaming it to "PMDG_737_Touchdown.wav"and coping it to the aforementioned folder replacing the existing file there.let me know if you like it or not and I will make some adjustments to it.P.S. I am now working on the Front wheel touchdown and roll sounds, which unfortunately at this point the NGX uses the defaultFSX sounds. once I am done locating those FSX default sound files location and name I can test it, tweak it to match the 50% sound settings and I'll post it for you all. November 1, 201114 yr I'm glad as well that they added the sound, as it was very difficult to discern touchdowns in the past because there was really no audible feedback whatsoever. This is a small touch of realism, but a very needed one at best. I remember wanting to post this as a suggestion for the service pack a while back, but had forgotten to, so I'm happy to see itimplemented and that it is also responds accordingly to the rate of impact.I already did post it at the forum (pre-SP1)http://forum.avsim.n...nsproblem-maybeand I opened a Ticket, few days later after the support engineer tried to find out , Robert messaged him that they are working on the touchdownsound as we speak to be ready as part of SP1 releaseThe only missing sound is that of the speedbrake being deployed on touchdown. Where's the "eeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkk" screech of the motor?Regards,Paul Woodit's not missing , it is thereMicrosoft Flight Simulator XSoundPMDG737NGXLeversPMDG_737_SpeedBrakeLeverDeploy.wavyou need to arm the autobreaks before you land (CTRL + /) and be at engine idle before you touch the tarmac/runway.if those conditions are met, you got the autobreaks deployed and you get that squeaky noise you looking for as well.BTW - it's not the Motor that makes that sound, it is the auto breaks / spoiler lever that creates that sound. November 1, 201114 yr So that's what it was. I though that I broke my gear every time I land :DAlso that is the perfect touchdown vertical speed? I usually land with ~340 ft/min. Dmitrij Nazarenko
November 1, 201114 yr Well, this flight I'm on right now should be fun. WJA -600 onto a gravel runway in Nunavut.
