You were quoting the "Toy Airplane" post, and in my eyes, I saw you implying something. If I was wrong, sorry...but that's how I read it.

He was, but doesn't have the gonads to admit it.

LMFAO!!!! This forum makes me laugh CONSTANTLY

i dont normally read the Avsim fourm so if any one replys to this dont expect a response from me. But...Let me first say i dont Hate Xplane. What i Hate is people who use the Word "hate" as a Synonim for "Disagres with my openion about".My thing is they are both sims. if you prefer one to the other, thats great. Crack open a beer and have fun. dont get on the fans of the others nerves just becaues they arent useing the same one as you.And just becaue i feel like saying it. Nither one is realistic. Altho if i had to pick wich one is more realistic id still go for FS. even thoue its not winng by much. And before anyone says that Xplane is used in real world ATD's. my Flight school has a redbird Flight sim (FAA approved) it used FSX.

i have a good computer but its give me 10 - 20 FPS in default settings what the ?????

It's a modern sim that will push your hardware. That said, it's still technically in beta and hasn't been fully optimized yet. However, Laminar works quickly and pushes out sometimes several updates a week in the early days. Case in the point, the demo was released this weekend and has already been updated twice.

I seriously doubt XP will ever be user-friendly!

Have to agree, the two updates have made a world of difference for me...

Core i7 3820 | Asus P9X79-DELUX SLI M/b | 32GB Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz RAM | DeepCool Gemmaxx Cooler
nVidia GTX580 1536MB GDDR3 Video | ASUS MW221u 21" WS LCD
2 x Kingston V300 240gb SSD RAID for OS and FSX | 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1Tb SATA HD's in RAID | 1 x 1Tb ext b/up drive
Antec P193 Case | Corsair 1000W PSU | MS Win 7 Professional 64 Bit

I dont .. Austin makes millions more when the UI becomes more user friendly ..

I have tried the demo and it didnt feel like a demo.. more of an alpha or beta but fsx in a default state has almost the same feel to it. I am concerned about the performance of xp 10 as it would be a shame if they took the same logic behind fsx and base it on hardware that does not exist yet. While that is a concern for me as it could mean xp 10 has the chance to be a possible money pit which is what no simmer really wants.. buying addons is not the same as upgrading hardware every year or so to make the sim usable ( this would be my version of usable ).When the fsx demo was released i didnt even bother buying it as the sim's performance was that poor for me i left it alone for years and only in the last year or so i have returned to it and in that time i have upgraded my hardware once to make the addons run a bit better. fsx will always be a sloppy sim that is far from perfect and guessing what flight or the full release of xp10 will be like does seem pointless. Xp 10 has some great features and a great future of possibility's when the hardware catches up to the sim but saddly at this time ( based on the demo ) it is not for me as i would have to upgrade again to get the most out of it which is not what i want to do for the next 12 months or so.For me performance will be the main deciding factor when choosing between xp 10 and flight as i dont want to stick with fsx even though i have lots of payware addons for the sim.Its good to see some big name addon developers getting behind X-Plane now as it gives people even better choice in the future :)

That's because it is beta. Laminar does a poor job educating their customers, but it goes something like this:The x.0 release of X-Plane (in other words what comes in the box) is technically the first public beta. Laminar will continue to polish and refine the code for the next several months based on user feedback and work their way through version x.1 up to x.2 which will be considered the first stable release, so anybody who wants to avoid the growing pains of beta software should wait until sometime next year for version 10.2.However, 10.2 won't be the end of it, and Laminar will continue improving the sim and pushing updates for the next several years. I think X-Plane 9 made it all the way up through version 9.7 before they stopped development and moved on to version 10.

The only thing Microsoft did wrong was incorrectly predict where hardware was going; however, future proofing is a sound design practice, and it's unlikely at this point that there will be any radical changes in CPU or GPU technology within the next several years. But, yeah, that doesn't do you much good when your current hardware is underpowered relative to the software. That said, flight simulators have always required beefy hardware to get the most out of them.

Yeah, what ever! Keep dreaming that! XP even made it confusing to install the world scenery.
