Quick question i want a long haul modern airliner and have been looking at the PMDG MD11, any thoughts on this? The cockpit looks quite rough on Youtube, what are your general impressions, how has she aged?Or what about another airliner?Thank you in anticipation

Hi,I would assume the 747X would be your next choice for a 'modern long haul airliner'. Based on what I've heard, the MD-11 looks better, and I believe they are on par with each other systems wise. The 747 is always fun to learn if you want some new Boeing material, but for something all new definetly the MD-11.

Thank you all for your help.The 747x is not on my radar, it's too old, same for the LD 767, the systems are great but they haven't aged at all well. FSX seems to have very few long haul, full systems planes. I could wait for the PMDG 777...but i doubt we'll see that until middle / end next year.Thanks again

MD11 and 737NG - Job done

I bought it...along with fs2crew. The cockpit actually looks pretty good, so far very happy. I do like the way the NGX setup is done from the CDU. Far better.

Depends what you mean when you say "looks better". The exterior is not at all accurate, so can't say that the MD-11 is better than the 747 in that regard. As for the cockpit, I never did much comparing with actual photographs in that regard, so I wouldn't know.
