EricI had the MD-11X installed for almost two years prior to the NGX being released. Because of issues involving the MD-11X and FSDT KLAX and KDFW I uninstalled, paid $5 and downloaded it using the Extended Download Sevice and reinstalled it. So I believe that is an answer to you install order. I don't believe it makes any difference. Lee Marrow has several PMDG MD-!!X Delta liveries in the Avsim File Library. However I don't know if thewy are current or not.. The HD liveries really look good.Michael Cubine

EricAttached are some MD-11 screenshots that show the issues with the MD-11 during the past two years. I eventually concluded that the gpaphics problem was with MD-11 because these types of problems occurred only with the MD-11 accross two different computers and three video cards. Installation of the MD-11 from the Extended Download Service has eliminated these problems in total. I liked the MD-11 so much I refused to accept that maybe it was the problem. These problems could all be eliminated by pressing the ESC key and then clicking on Continue Flying in the next FSX dialogue box.Michael Cubine

I must say that the 2 below I have only seen when my FSX was corrupt and the 2 above I have never seen but I never use add-on scenery since it basically would kill my weak computer.

ManfredI tried just about everything including reinstalling FSX and addons several times, using this service http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html, installing nVidia Inspector and making various changes in the video card settings and nothing worked until I downloaded and installed a new MD-11X. The problem with KLAX and KDFW would only happen after 10-12 hour flight from Europe. The crazy looking plane shots would only happen maybe every 30-35 hours of flight and as long as I didn't use an external view I would never know they happened. damn you Tom!! lolNothing beats the rows of MD11Fs parked at YSSY though upwards of 5 or more I think...all purple. Funny though..my understanding is that they only fly into YSSY and then onto ZSPD or something from there.

FEDEX and UPS fly MD-11s out of YSSY to gangzhou and Honolulu, I've managed to get some good pics of FEDEX 77 rotating right in front of the tower, makes me want to buy it. Then I will own most of the FSX products except the -8 and LCF.Regards Luke stevens

thats b/s mate...I bought the 707 for $12 AUD and am loving it. sure it doesn't have an FMC but it looks, 'feels' and sounds great. Was hoping to get some sort of special for the MD-11 but it aint gonna happen.Luke - I've been literally underneath an MD-11 on approach at about 1000 ft (there's a park near the path to 16R where you get to see them overhead at about 500-1000ft)...and that was a thing of beauty! One day i"ll buy it...one day! :)oh and merry xmas everyone.

I quite often sit at the beach at YSSY in my spare time. It's a good place to think in peace and watch the planes do their thing. It's relaxing to take an SLR and get some good pics. It always makes my day hearing an MD-11 check in on approach or call ready, an MD-11 departure is always a spectacle.

I spotted a 707 flying out of Sydney a few years ago - I think it was John Travolta's...can't imagine too many 707s flying around (without a massive dome above it anyway). I do remember the 4 looooooong black smoke trails from the engines...nice.

Yeah, I've seen travoltas 707 at Sydney before. That airport is no stranger to exotic aircraft, I've seen a DC-8's fly out and an antonov 124 ruslan, that was quite a sight.

Captain Sim is doing an 'everything for 10 Euro' day on Dec 22....is PMDG contemplating something like that? I've had my eye on the MD11 for a long time but can't afford the price unfortunately :( C'mon Rob...lets see some xmas spirit ;)
