Very cool... I appologise for just calling your addon a Key Mapper and I blame this on my ignorance and only trying the demo for an hour or so.Will definately try the demo out again and start to edit the config to try the features your talking about.JB

I'm very new to all this and having spent quite a few hours reading I've still not really got a definitive answer.I am looking for the best 737 simulator with multi crew experience. When I say best, I really mean something that will allow one to learn everything there is to learn about the 737 whilst also having the ability to practice in a multi crew environment, i.e SOP's. From what I understand, it seems as though I can buy a product such as being discussed here and set it up so that I can practice a specific airlines SOP's and it would be as though you are running a real airline operation? Can anyone tell me which version of Flight Sim I require FS9 or FSX, which 737 (I originally thought PMDG 737NGX until I saw the iFLY FS2crew videos on youtube) and any other relevant hardware/software, e.g. I saw the trackIR 5 and that's something I would be interested in. What I'm not really interested in is external graphics, livery add ons or even flight deck graphics...amazing as the PMDG 737NGX videos look! I just want an easy hassle free simple install that works and allows me to practice SOP's and learn about the 737 systems etc. Oh and can I switch seats and become pilot monitoring or pilot flying?Any help and advice greatly appreciated.Happy new year to all! Cheers

In MCE, can you map a key for VATSIM communications. It seems the default is the Delete key. I would like to use the space bar.

The DEL key is reserved for communication with ATC (Native or Radar Contact). While the key is held down, all voice commands for interacting with FO are suspended, and those for talking to ATC are enabled. The opposite happens when you release the key.For VATSIM, IVAO, Teamspeak, use the <END> key instead. Assign that key as PTT in VATSIM, and it will suspend all MCE recognition (including MCE ATC feature) while it’s held down. You may also want to remove the assignment in FSX for END key.I guess, it might be a good idea for future updates to let the user select the key to use for VATSIM.There is a workaround though...I don’t want to turn this thread into a full-blown MCE support forum. Besides, you will get answers much quicker by asking [email protected]I suggest anyone who wants to find out more about MCE to contact support directly.Thank you.

Hello JackSorry, I should have replied earlier. It’s all to your credit to recognise that your earlier post was a bit rushed. We all sometimes write things we didn’t mean. Never took offence though, because there was nothing malicious in your statement. My earlier post was just to set the record straight.Thank you.

This sounds like something that can be very useful for training purposes. I will definitively try out the demo :)Thank you for the informative post.Geir J.

I at present looking for a voice recognition program that will interact with RC4 which i already have, so this thread interests me.I still intend getting FS2CREW for the NGX when it comes out just based on my exposure to it on my PMDG 747X (Really love it)I am hoping that RC5 is not too long in coming out and that they also improve the quality of there voices and taxi instructions.Robotic voices is the one thing i am also concerned about with PFE so maybe Gerald can comment on that a little.Oh yes and i also agree that every product deserves discussion as long as it is constructive and i would add that i have seen many devs pedal their products on these forums. Some more creatively than others.Regards,

Gerald, I just started playing with the demo and I'm encountering an issue that at the moment is a show stopper for me.I am losing the copilot voice. Sometimes it happens when I load a plane or when I minimize and restore the control panel. When this happens I can see the commands in the red, and the copilot will execute the commands, but I don't hear any readbacks. This happens mostly with the NGX, but I just had it happen with the default cessna. Sometimes a restart of MCE will fix this, sometimes it won't. Either way, I can't spend more than 2 minutes testing MCE before I lose the copilot voice. Can you help as I would like to keep trying the software?JB

Of course I can, even though I would prefer people send their queries via e-mailYou are experiencing one of Windows 7 or Vista "volume auto-attenuation of background task”.Since Vista, Microsoft has made some changes to the audio system. Each application now has a separate sliderWindows sometimes automatically attenuates the sound volume of an application it deems as a background task (like MCE or VoxATC).With MCE and the sim running, click on the sound icon in the system tray (right bottom of the screen), and then click "Mixer". You will see a separate slider for each application. You can then set MCE volume to higher than FSX or FS9. Refer to attached pictureMCE_lost_Sound.jpgIf running Windows 7, it's even better. There is an option to disable that behaviour (automatic attenuation of sound volume). Go to Windows Control Panel, double-click <sound> icon. Click the "Communications" tab at the top of the window.Select option "Do nothing" (see attached picture)Win7_Sound_Communications.jpgWe can even tell you the name of the guy at Microsoft who had that "bright" idea to attenuate the volume of background applications. :-)) And this phenomenon can affect every other application, not just MCE.There is one related thread on the VoxATC forum. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/355473-how-to-increase-vox-atc-volume/The answer is above.Armed with this knowledge, you can now set co-pilot's volume to a much higher level than the sim. Just be careful though, because co-pilot argues too much sometimes. :Straight Face:And while we are on the subject, if you think co-pilot talks too much, just tell him/her "no more nagging please", and he/she will restrict herself to executing commands and making standard callouts.Regards,

Only problem is that I'm on xp64. Is there any chance that I am somehow toggling the no nagging feature unknowingly? And btw I'm on the road will be back at comp later.ThanksSent from my iPhone using TapatalkJB

Well I took the plunge a couple of days ago.....boy am I bowled over!!!!! My first test flight showed that I can select NGX checklists and the F/O will read them out and tell you if a switch is not in the correct position....the GEM is....using Vox Script and Vox Key (both included in the package)....I have been able to create my own cockpit procedure for the NGX!!!Basically, after every flight I leave my NGX is roughly the same format, doors open, ground power on, batt on, chocks on....I created a "Cockpit Preparation Procedure"...as soon as I say those magic words, the F/O fires up the APU, configures Bleed Air, Hydraulics, Lights, Signs, you name it....so I am ready to go....absolutely amazing...I am very busy creating more procedures ( I want to create Engine Failure and Engine Fire procedures) as well as complete procedures for the MD-11....(which by the way, works wonderfully with this....full voice control of my PMDG MD-11!!)I will retain FS2Crew for the Maddog, but gotta say, MCE has won me over for my PMDG fleet!
