Dash 8-300

Featured Replies

Hello all,First things first. This isn't a "spark" for a flame war. Meaning, if you don't have anything nice to say, KEEP IT TO YOURSELVES. This isn't a Jet vs. Turbo topic, so please don't make it one. With that out of the way...Where is the Dash 8? I mean, yes PMDG has been very focused on the NGX and has every right to be! However, why is it that we have heard a little news about the T7 (777) and nothing out the Dash? They stated (though this was a LONG time ago) that the Dash would be released in between the NGX and the T7. Can we still expect this? Is it even in development? :( Just curious as to the whereabouts of this plane. And no, by no means am I asking for a release date haha :) just don't forget about us propheads!!! :)Happy New Years to all, it will be a great year of simming. That is to say, if the world doesn't come to an end ;)Best Regards, Cameron Caldwell(null)

Ryan had mentioned some months back in a post that they were still working on it but it seems that it has kind of fallen of the face of the earth. I have also really been looking forward to this plane so hopefully they are still planning on doing it

I agree. i have been asking a lot about the dash but no answer:(

Ships are cooler that you think.

They most likely won't release any information until they feel comfortable. Which is okay by me however, the only thing that bothers me is that it really seems as if the T7 has "butted" the line when it comes to release dates. A couple of long-haul people would highly disagree with me there, as to it being "fair" but whatever. I just want to know if they still plan on it. What would be really nice is if it include 3D propellers like the Majestic Q400 will have :D

I agree This plane and the majestic q400 are the two planes I have been looking forward to the most.

Perhaps they have cancelled it? Not sure though, but maybe they thought there wouldn't be enough interest for a prop plane from the community. At least, not as much as for the 777. Although I'm much more interested in the 777, I would still buy the Q400 upon release. :D

I dont think they canceled it, they just don't have any new info to share, the modelling for the VC and exterior can take a long time to get where it can be shown in previews and look nice!

...because Majestic have already done the -400 to a high level? From the information a while back, they said they had some people devoted to the turboprop product, even while everything else is going on.

Kyle Rodgers

I would only be interested in a Q400
Oh ok, if that's what YOU want then clearly then need to alter the project plan ;)

Periodic updates are good, but I also like the unannounced surprise aircraft releases too.

The 200/300 series has a completely different cockpit than the 400 its not like they would be making the same plane, its like comparing the 767-200/300 to the 400 series. Plus there are a lot of airlines that fly the older dash 8s.

John Bauer

Hi Cameron, I know Robert has stated several times that the 777 will be the next release, followed by the Dash 8. Due to the complexity and awesomeness of PMDG aircraft nowdays, I would not at all be surprised if we don't see a Dash 8 til 2013-2014I personally wouldn't mind a Dash 8, although I have been waiting for a quality 777 for some time now. Also looking forward to the Iris Platinum Series F-15E Strike Eagle!

Everybody, we need to remember the NGX took 3 years...yes, they have the programming/modeling techniques from the NGX that they are using for the 777, but even if it only takes 1/3rd the time, it is still a year, so be patient. The NGX was released in August, which was a mere 4-5 months ago. Compared to 3 years, 4-5 months is really nothing. The 777 and Dash 8 will come in due time.
