Occupy Redmond

Featured Replies

Maybe if we all go set up our tents on the Microsoft Redmond campus, we can invoke a change in Flight. We can huddle in groups-- the FSX guys on one side and the FS9 guys on the other side. We can setup a network and sip on hot chocolate while we play flight sim. Maybe a group of Xplane guys will come and beat the drums for us. :)

Heheh nice idea but it ain't worth. The best action everyone of us can do is DO NOT buy any addons and Flight will die within few weeks.

Boycotting Flight is probably the best and most effective action we could take.. Other than that, if someone has contacts at Microsoft we could start writing letters and bugging them as much as possible..

LOL, I'm in. When do we start? Don't forget to bring tea!

Cheers, Bert

Strangely enough, I was hoping that this would happen when the announcement was made. Hordes of sim fans descending onto their nearest Microsoft office to protest against it and make them re-consider their actions. Unfortunately, that was never going to happen, but one can dream :( . The best way to protest at the moment is either not download it or post a message on their facebook page.

I think it is enough that the FSX/P3D/XP world will scoop up the few serious users that Flight creates. Sort of like Flight is the free farm league for us courtesy of MS. When they develop a user willing to pay $$ for better stuff, they leave them and join us. Instead of boycotting, we play them for the sucker.Geez, maybe they're simply being altruistic toward the hobby? It would make more sense. Perhaps we should send them thank you notes instead.

Okay control freak, I'll stop expressing myself so that you can continue to rule the universe without my opinions.

Ah...we have been fooled by MS for 2 years and we can't express an opinion in these few days after the debacle of the Century ?Go on dighost and let MS fans enjoy their new toy and defend it from the cruel world. You are right, good stuff btw.

Superpilot,Occupy Redmond is a people-powered movement that began on January 6th in the Avsim forums and has spread to over 100 cities in the United States and actions in over 1,500 cities globally (or at least it likely will soon). #or is fighting back against the corrosive power of Microsoft and multinational corporations over the democratic simulation-development process, and the role of Microsoft in creating a reality collapse that has caused the greatest sim-recession in generations. The movement is inspired by popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia (both partially due to unhappiness with Flight's crappy x-box like gameplay). We aim to fight back against the stupidest 1% of people that are willing to play this 'game', thereby foreclosing on our future. The occupations around the world are being organized using a non-binding consensus based collective decision making tool known as a "sim-geeks' assembly". To learn more about how to use this process to organize your local Avsim community to fight back against flightsim injustice, just google the interweb.Solidarity Forever!JOIN US!
