I'll be at CES next week. What questions do you have for MS?

Featured Replies

I'm at CES next week. I'm gonna put the marketing guys on the spot if I get a chance to. "Hey, have you seen your Facebook page"? "Any reply to that"?Anything you'd like me to ask?

Let's ask productive questions. Ask what kind of third party development support there will be, and if there is any, what the revenue sharing between Microsoft and third parties is going to be.

Ask them how long it will be until we can fly in other countries. Also ask them when jets will be introduced.Wish I could go to CES - too bad I live about 7000 miles away.

That is the core question !

I had a dream last night that thousands of ex-FS fans staged a OWS type event outside the center, while a smaller group stood around the MS Flight booth and laughed loudly and uncontrollably for hours on end... Just%20Kidding.gif

Ask them if their strategy is really to monitor where people run out of gas and crash before building a region there OR are they planning on building the whole world.

I wouldn't expect anything but the official line.. But if you do get some honesty from them, ask them why they alienated 99% of the flight sim community.Ask them why they did this when they knew there were 150,000 plus people worldwide willing to spend the next 6-10 years spending money on add ons and other upgrades..Ill spend hundreds on a good flight sim but won't spend a cent on Flight..I wouldn't expect anything but the official line.. ^ ThisThere is no good spin for Flight and Microsoft knew it and that's why the left out news to the sim community. As a longtime supporter since Flight Sim 1 and 3rd party supporter, I personally feel wronged by Micrososft just as many others here do. Flight is a slap in the face to the consumers who supported them so long and I hope Micrososft gets what's coming to them for this move. So really I don't care what you ask them but please but sure to relay a message for us ... Micrososft is now blacklisted.

From the Flight web December 8, 2010 Press Release:

A number of you have asked, “Why did you drop ‘Simulator’ from the title of the game?”In addition to the FAQ on this topic, we want to directly address the concern that by dropping the “Simulator” from the name, we’re dumbing down the experience. Quite the contrary! We’ve developed on the “simulation” aspect for many years and have no intention of losing that legacy. What we’re doing now is improving the total experience while building on this legacy, enhancing the enjoyment for all who share a passion for flight. The more people who join us in the Flight experience, the greater the opportunity we’ll have to do even more. Many of you are concerned that because we want to appeal to a wider audience, we must be building an arcade game.We don’t need to create an arcade game to welcome a wider audience. But we do need to improve the total user experience if we’re to be successful in welcoming new audiences into the experience of Flight. The passion and fascination of flight is powerful, with so many different aspects to aviation and different levels of enjoyment to experience. There is distinct value and strength to be gained by welcoming a wider audience, and we can’t claim to have done the best job of it in the past.
Cheers,- jahman.

Brilliant!! Yes ask them about these statements they made and record them while they backtrack and make idiotic excuses.

Tell them, "Hey, I just want to say a big thank you to the Flight team for giving people a compelling reason to buy a fantastic new flight simulator that has a lot of great features!"Then show them a copy of X-Plane 10.

Ask them where I can find my flap pedals. Also, ask them why they falsely lead this community along for 18 months making it seem like they were building a simulator when they knew the direction was an arcade game with freaking aerocache (how stupid). MS has lost a lot of credibility with so many people in the community and I suspect many of us will think twice in purchasing some future products.

Best not to do that or they may drop the airport buildings from the next version of flight.
