January 26, 201214 yr Does PREPAR3D utilize the GPU when Im using AA a little better, I hate shimmering and cannot get rid of it in FSX without killing my FPS. I thinking of taking the PP3D plunge and seeing it it offers something better in terms of picture and performance! Also I have these addons and would like to use them in PP3DUTXGEXUT2REX (REX Essential will make it work with PP3D)737NGX (think that works, but with no support I assume)Cheers Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
January 26, 201214 yr RonI find P3D better than FSX wrt to shimmering. The scenery add-ons do not match those for FSX just yet but the ones that are available are very good eg ORBX FTX.FYI, I wrote to Flight 1 to ask if I could use GEXn, UTX etc or any Flight 1 product in P3D and I discovered that if I installed Flight 1 products in P3D that would be a breach of the licensing arrangement with them. So according to the information that I was given you cannot legally install a Flight 1 product in P3D at this time. Obviously, they offer no support for their products installed in P3D.It is important to note that you do need to seek permission to install any FSX product into P3D and many developers will give that permission willingly.RegardsPeterH Edited January 26, 201214 yr by peterhayes

January 27, 201214 yr RonSorry, subjectively yes - it looks better to me.To: JimBurke I take it that you support software piracy then? Because that is what you are advocating - isn't it? :Thinking:I feel strongly that we should all condemn software piracy at any level and whilst this may be a low level version, it is still software piracy. It would only be courteous to ask a developer if it is OK to install their software that you purchased for FSX can be legitimately used in P3D.It has absolutely nothing to do with speed limits. Taking that to its ridiculous conclusion, you would ask, 'is it OK to drink and drive'?RegardsPeterH
January 27, 201214 yr Hi,When I think of Software Piracy, I think of the following. Software piracy is the illegal distribution and/or reproduction of said software, not using the software that I paid for on my system for personal use. Back to the question at hand, the only item in your list that does not work with P3D is UT2. I've moved on to P3D its much smoother than FSX on my system, P3D is my sim of choice, I can't remember the last time I opened FSX. However, i've ported some of my paid for FlyTampa sceneries that were made for FS9 only and installed them in FSX as well as other FS9 stuff. Is that against the EULA? Probably, but I doubt most of the developers really care (not including the ORBX guys) what sim you attempt to install the software into as long as you pay for it. I suppose you could spin it as pirating it, but like Mike said, I feel that if I pay for it, then i'll use it how I want. Yes, its not what the EULA states and technically most of the time it means that you only own the license to use the software and not actually own it. The comparison to speeding was that your not supposed to exceed it, but most people do. Your not supposed to experiment with installing FS9 stuff into FSX, or visa versa, but a lot of people do. Your not supposed to mess with or reverse engineer commercial sceneries but a lot people run textures of after market sceneries thru mip mapping tools which is probably technically againt the EULA but people do it anyway. Its great that you dont break any laws and seek permission from devs to experiment with installing their software into other sims, I dont disagree with what you do. All I was saying is that a lot of people experiment with it and for the most part I dont think the majority of devs care as long as you at least pay for your copy and of course dont upload it to pirate bay or share it with your friends. January 27, 201214 yr Lol, since nobody is really going to answer the OP's question. I think the AA looks about the same. Your best bet is to use Nvidia Inspector ad create a profile for P3D.P3D, for me, provides better performance so cranking up the FSAA a little ways has less of a performance impact on the sim. Just my experience.Hope this helps! Edited January 27, 201214 yr by Arklight1 Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3

April 1, 201214 yr The in game AA with prepar3D is a bit better than FSX but it still isn't what I would call good. You will still be disabling it and forcing AA at the hardware level to rid of jaggies.
